hello everyone i'm going to buy an echo 2511 to do some pruning and i was thinking of buying it with a pitch of 1/4. for the gauge i have the choice between 0.43 and 0.50, what do you recommend ?

If running regular size 1/4" 050. If mini micro 1/4" 043.

No clue what you got going because you didnt say which 1/4".

All my mini micro 043. All my full size 1/4" for other bars 050. Some older 050 1/4 that came in on saws compared to micro mini.

I like to run the .050.

The .043 seems to be less durable and tend blow out the nose sprockets regularly.

Use the one your drive sprocket is for. In Stihl the 0.050 is code 1 and the 0.043 is code 7. The sprocket for my 361p is for the 0.050 stuff.

Here it is worth adding that the Stihl 1/4 .043'' is a Picco chain (71 PM3/3670).
Hence the differences in Stihl sprockets.
Oregon 1/4 0.043'' (24 AP) is also a Low Profile chain.
Chinese OEMs also manufacture full-size 1/4 chain with a gauge of .043''.
