Looking for an older saw to modify some...In the 60-80cc range...preferably in the late 70's-mid 80's....What would be a good one to find?

Looking at a johnnyred 910e on saturday so we will see how that is....could get that for 150ish...

If i didnt just spend 600 on the saw i would seriously consider it....I think i am looking more to make something out of not much lol...The 7900 already is an animal...

Homelite 540, Stihl 038, 056, or 064, Mcculloch 80 Double Eagle, Echo 8000, Pioneer P-41, Poulan 5400 or 475 pro, Husqvarna 272, 262xp or 181, Jonsered 670, Sachs Dolmar 120 super, Solo 680.
Some of these are hard to find but I don't think any of them will disapoint a woodcutter that wants something just a little better. Completely rebuilt and mildly hopped up, these saws will make you proud. Just about every manufacturer made some good saws. They made some duds also.

cool thanks for the info guys...I have no clue why i want an older saw when i have 3 brand new ones but maybe for the same reason people restore old cars lol...
