It's all about where you live and what grows there. I am no tree snob, I can recognize that some of you guys are cutting prime examples of local trees.
You do your best with whatever God gave, I was blessed to be born in North-Western California.

That make sense we have some really big cedar and oak trees but not tall just fat and wide! mabey someday ill be able to fell a tree that big

Don't have a pic but my best so far was a 24" standing dead White Ash tree. It had broken at the base and started to tip, then barber-chair split right up the middle about 12' before catching in the crown of a half-dead American elm right next to it. That was a hair-raising affair that involved a big pry bar, a rope, a pickup truck and my MS260. I'm glad I don't have any pics of it because I would probably get flamed like crazy for going near such an abomination but I got 2 face cords of perfectly seasoned firewood out of the deal!

This tread was a great idea i have enjoyed looking at the pic's of the big tree's that have been cut especially The pic's RandyMac posted would love to see more.

One of the largest Big Leaf Maples I have taken down. This pic was just a couple of weeks ago. This one was a co-dom that was 6 feet at the stump. I'm fallin' one of the spars here. I was standing about 3 to 4 feet off the ground on the root buttress to fall this guy.

This is the back cut on the 2nd spar. No roots to stand on... look how high I had to make my back cut. Good thing I'm 6' 5"... :)

I'm using a stock 10mm pin 044 built in 1993. No mods... not even a dual port muffler cover... 28" ES bar with full skip RSC chain. Only
"mod" to the saw is the USA Handlebars 3/4 wrap.
