im after a new rope this week......fly is in stock, can buy it tomorrow, or i can hang ona couple of weeks for the blaze to be available here.
i love the fly, been using it for 6 months and no complaints, but ive heard real good things about the new blaze too......anyone got the blaze?? in what ways is it better than the fly(if any)?

they're both 11mm.
wether they're exactly the same or notis another question....ive heard mention of the samson 11mm being smaller than the fly but not the blaze

When I hold fly in my hand, it feels bigger than 11mm, but the Blaze seems right at 11mm. When I measure them with a caliper, the Blaze comes in right at 11 and fly at almost 12, but not quite.

Blaze has a nice clean splice which I prefer doing AND using.

And, to be honest, I like the Blaze colors more and that's the most important thing!

I hate my Fly more than I hate my Butterfly saddle. That rope is the only line I have had that tangles, hockles and goes out of its way to fight me at every turn in the tree. I don't even know what I was thinking, how would gripping a smaller diameter lines make my hands feel better at the end of the day? Samson 16-strand forever! :umpkin:

Hahahaaa!! No sheet! And I thought it was just me. :alien:

I would give the blaze a try. I like yale rope i've been using there xtc for 3 years.....no problems. Blaze looks to be the most atractive rope on the market.

Blaze is available here!

Its not up to date on my website, but I have it.

$.75 (cents) per foot.

Call me as I DO ship overseas.

What don't you like about the Butterfly?

Is this the first series of the Butterfly?
It as the wrong rise, when on rope it pinches my hips and puts my testicles in a vise, the waistbelt doesnt have enough support to hold gear, yes I know a saw over 15 pounds must not be suspended from the climber, whatever. The buckle comes loose when working in the tree, which makes the need to get on ones feet somewhere to cinch it back tight. I hate it. M  aybe for a light small waisted highly athletic sport climber the saddle may be perfect, but for working a large removal for a few hours on rope or hanging gear on its not the proper choice.

actually i know what you mean about the straps working loose.....although the waist strap never worked loose on mine, just the leg straps.
i just bought the butterfly 2 today and theres a couple of pieces of webbing attatched to the adjusters which im guessing stops the slipping, we'll see.
feels a comfy harness all the same.
did you try shortening the bridge to lower the centre of gravity? that makes a huge difference to your gonads

I thought at first maybe I was a little thick in the middle from too much supervising, but I've been working myself punchy for about 8 months straight but maybe I will try shorting the bridge a little. I just dont know if I'm the right type of climber for this rig. I work with a guy who makes a good showing each time at the ITCC comps and he is climbing on the saddle I used to have, and probably will go back to. Buckingham has added a couple of nice touches to their saddles, I do like the airlock buckles more than the old belt style. :umpkin:

no, the best ones are the pfanner stretch airs, but i dont know if anyone in america does them or not.
i have the stretch airs, mate of mine bought the sips.....then bought the stretch airs a couple of weeks later, he now has a brand new pair of sips that i havent even seen him wear since getting the stretch airs, that says something.

Actually its Big A, so if hes about he'll confirm that for you

All these people talking about straps loosening need to get a Singer and maybe some velcro.

I thought that might help with one issue, but I still dont think its a good big removal saddle, at least not at all for me. I'll try the velcro and shorten up the bridge with some spectraor something. Then harass one of my unsuspecting cowokers into purchaising it. :blob2: Dosnt anyone else think its a little to sporty for everyday work?
