Who makes a good pair of chaps for protection? I am green to all this.
Buy Stihl MS361 or MS441mag 20"bar

Rollomatic E ( not ES), and for sure, not GB (real heavy).....
Without breaking out a scale, I can not tell the difference between a 20" GB Ti bar and a 20" Stihl ES bar.
Just about any set of chaps will work for you. Try some different ones on and see which fit best.
I have the Stihl chaps and havent had an issue with them.

I run whatever I can get the cheapest. I got my 441's with a 20" bar so I am set for a while!!!
GB makes a good bar...........a little extra heft never hurt anything..........right 'Troll???

Whe not the ES is it much heaver? I thought the solid bar would last longer and perform better.

The 361 will come with the E bar and the 441 will come with the ES. I have run the solid nose Duromatic bar on my 441 and now use the Rollomatic ES bar. I'll give up an ounce or 2 for durability over the E bar anyday.

The extra weight is out front, and changes the balance of the saw quite a bit, even a few ounses makes a differense out there............
With short bars, it is a non-issue.
I am not a pro, so the longevity of bars is not a big issue with me.

It's not like anyone stands around holdin' their saw all day. At least I hope not!

a good pair of chaps are the 94 Series from Elvex...
i'd wear them in the cool season only though... they weigh about 2.5 - 3lbs.
for warm season get some summer pants with built in
or stitched in protection.
and remember, if you have chaps with kevlar in them,
you shouldn't wash them, it damages the kevlar
