I don't feel like reading 16 pages.... Did the OP ever decide on a saw? Or did we scare him off?

I can save you the trouble, just read what you posted and you'll pretty much have the idea. If you came here looking for something regarding a chainsaw, just skip this entire thread, read the one in the TP about a new MS880 for sale, it's more entertaining. Especially with half the posts being deleted. I could've sworn I joined a chainsaw site with the same name as this site at one point....

What is the "TP"?

Is the op gonna get the Husky or what?

Steve
Going to see if I can get more than 10m to go to the local used place to see what they have there. If nothing, then Husky it is. I also have a line on a grapple load of firewood, but I want to go check out the lot first. If its giant rounds then perhaps I'll bump up to a Husky 460.

Just, with the wee-one, full time job, and still moving in I don't have more than ten minutes to do anything else.

After 33 years of marriage, I do this with my wife also......

I have to admit, after reading the whole 16 pages of this thread, this was the best thing in the whole darned thread. I laughed quite a bit and it reminded me of a joke. Here goes....

So, a man goes to a doctor to get a urinalysis. The doc tells him come back in a week to get the lab results.
The guy meets up with his friend and discusses having to wait for a week to get the results. The friend suggests that he goes to another doctor who looks at the urine and tells you exactly what's going on. No waiting.
The guy thinks about it and decides to go. He goes to the new doctor and gives a urine sample, and the new doctor looks at sample and tells him all of the stats of his urine.
The guy gets the results of the first sample and can't believe that both doctors had told him the same results.
He couldn't figure out how this guy does it, so he decides to play a trick on the doc and see if he catches it.

So, the guy gives a sperm sample in the cup and is trying to figure out how to make it look like urine. He decides to mix a little vegetable oil with it and sets off to see the doc.
He gives the sample to the doc and waits while secretly smiling to himself.
The doc looks at the sample with little confusion and concern. He turns to the man and says, "well, a jerkoff I knew you were! But, I can't tell where you're losing oil!" :surprised3::laugh::dancing:

Ahhhh now this thread is perking up!! Talk of tracked vehicles and M2 and I'm in! I had the pleasure of riding M1A1's and now that is a fun tracked vehicle to drive!! Nothing better than being in the TC seat firing the M2 on the move. TC complete!!

When we were learning the APC we were encouraged to "push the envelope"

I 2nd that idea, can't go wrong with that. Best bang for the buck. Bar none.
I love both of my Echo's and all 3 of my Sthils. Inherited an 024 ( great shape great saw) and an 026. Already had an 029. All Sthils have Muffler Modification and needed it. The cs590 and cs 310 simply needed carb adjustment and gives very good performance. I've considered selling the smaller Sthils But no one around here wants to pay what I'd expect. Since I have no need to sell I'm keeping them. It's not like I need the money. I figure a used Sthil is worth what I'd pay IF, I needed one. If both saws with cases aren't worth 450 to anyone else they are to me. I used the 026 today. Strangely, it feels lighter than the 024 and has a tiny bit more power. Tomorrow I plan to use the 024 just because a saw needs to be used some. They are sweet machines. Now when a tree wants to fight the smaller saws, my upgraded 029 comes out. If we get a bigger tree that slows the 029, then the cs 590 with a 24 inch bar comes to play.
Once in a while a big tree calls for more bar. That's when the 28 inch bar goes on the 590. I haven't found anything in this area the 590 can't bring down with the big bar and full chisel chain. My baby brother has an even bigger Echo he'll loan but I've never had to borrow it.
I don't work full time anymore and Echo saws have been good to me for part time work.
If I were Felling and bucking 6-8 hours a day 5 days a week 48 weeks a year,. The cs 590 may not hold up as well as a Sthil would. My other brother has a Sthil 391 and using the cs590 I'm able to keep up with him. He's also younger than me so it's probably the saws rather than the man. I think an Echo will last most folks many years. IMHO. Have no experience with a Husqvarna.

Funny this thread was brought back up.

Wife, kiddo, and I finally went into town at the nearest Lowe's yesterday. They had a Husky 455, but with an 20" chain. Was about $80 more. I want the 18" chain and they didn't have it. Pissed me off to no end. Seems like you have to buy everything online now.

So I say screw it, I'll just order it online then. So last night when we got home I add it to my cart and three bottles of the premixed stuff for the Husky warranty. What's that? Oh, they won't ship the fuel. I have to go back to the store to pick it up.

This is the third time Lowe's has dropped the ball on me. I got these stupid gift cards and I don't even want to shop here anymore.

You can sell gift cards. I'd take a small percentage of loss and sell them on line. Maybe buy something then refund it for cash.
