Hello Guys,

Hopefully someone can help me with this,I was doing some small tree felling an limbing with my 029S today and for some reason the chain tensions itself to the point where it will kill the saw..I took the cover off and made sure all was intact an re tensioned the chain and the same thing happened rev the saw an the chain gets tighter an tighter...:( Any ideas guys ???

Thanks Rob.

Stumper,

The sprocket is brand new..I'll have to go check I did'nt even think about the groove although I did clean it this morning,I'll go look anyway..

Thanks Rob.

Well I just went cleaned the bar groove, and put it all back together an went outside an tried it and the second it reaches wide open throttle the chain get so tight the engine will die,I then loosened the chain again an it did the same thing..I have no clue how it would even do this it's not like the bar can move or anything since it's all bolted down..Man this thing has got me really confused

Rob.

I believe so..I mean this problem happens instantly the minute it reaches W.O.T. it just stops..It just did it today kinda screwed me all up.If I dont figure it out by tomorrow AM I'm gonna go see my dealer an see what he thinks.

Good point Rocky, Stihl Magum, flipo the bar and see what happens. Sometimes a bar sprocket will develope a "catch" in one direction but not the other, worth a shot.

Well I flipped the bar over and tried it earlier and it seemed to be ok,so I guess I'll just have to see how lont it will go before it does it again..I'll keep everyone posted as too what happens tomorrow. Thanks for all your suggestions I appreciate them.

Thanks Rob.
