I was in there yesterday, of course I took a stroll down the chainsaw aisle. Only one Echo gas saw, a 310, on the shelf... Didn't notice the price. Just thought "that's odd, must be just selling battery saws now".

my local store just built a rental space. seems to be "time" for them to do so, we are small market and had never had one, you had to go to big market stores in Orlando to find one that had rentals. Should be interesting. The reality is we have one rental yard in town the owner is just ready to retire, and hasn't bought new stuff for his fleet in year, just waiting to cash in on someone wanting the land he is on, the other is a GrandRental Station franchisee, who is so uptight, and so persnickity, and did I mention uptight? It take and hour to get out fo the store with the tool. He is his own worst enemy, including outrageous pricing on mandatory delivery of some of the larger stuff.

With Hurricane Ian and Nicole flooding our town area and the lack of qualified tradespeople who don't already have a long list of customers to serve- DIY is going to be a good alternative.

Was at lowes last Friday needed ro grab a few things and kill some time. Daughter and I walked down the small equipment isle. I was pretty supresed to see the gas powered stuff was still there. Actually quite a lot of it, but the winds of change are blowing. No good sales on anything.

My store did not have a single thing on clearance, but i was mortified with all the battery powered chinese garbage. It even smelled similar to harbor freight.
Home Depot has elected to keep the good Makita stuff in on line sales. Probably minimal in store Echo stuff. If you look for the promotions on Makita site, then see if Home Depot offers that. sometimes they have an item with two batteries and same thing with 4 batteries during the promotion.

My Home Depot is doing a big reset. Getting all their spring and summer planograms where corporate wants them. Everything from the mowers back to cleaning supplies has been moved around. Except for the gas powered stuff.

There still seems to be a decent selection of Echo and Husky gas saws at Lowe's and HD, as long as there's demand there will be supply.
But you walk down the aisle, it's 85% battery equipment. I've said it before, the average person is getting dumber with operating gas equipment, and the POS ethanol gas has been a huge contributor to people moving to batteries.
