Well... since it's derailed...
Crapping in a bucket and washing in the river is one thing, but I can't serve them warm beer... they might think I'm some sort of heathen.

We can set them straight on that. LOL

I heard WS had some friends flying in from Warshington and Northern CA to help.
The three of them and oly might be able to find some common ground over some hard work and a few brews.
GERMAN!! not Iowan!! warm beer.. is that like cold coffee??? bleeeehhh!!!!!!!Just tell them warm beer is an Iowan tradition lol.
I know it's German LOL. But Iowans are going to be so much different than folks from Miami you could use that excuse for anything.GERMAN!! not Iowan!! warm beer.. is that like cold coffee??? bleeeehhh!!!!!!!

You need to run that generator anyway since you bought that el cheapo gas powered stick saw instead of the electric one. Shoulda coulda woulda..... lolUn-friggin'-believable... no BS... I have the emergency generator running right now‼ Big clap of thunder about 20 minutes ago, lights flickered... and went out‼ Likely just a transformer up the line and they'll have us back in service before noon... but still.
My wife looks like she could start sobbing any second now
I keep telling her it'll be just fine... we're in good shape. I patched the pressure tank, got the septic working, bought her a new vacuum, got the grass cutter running and finished the mowing last night, the new alternator should be at the parts house this morning... and worst case, I've got plenty of gas for the generator

Reminds me of a story a guy I worked with told me.He had the honey pumper guy over to pump out his septic tank. His wife sent out one of the grandkids with two straws.I get the pleasure of pumping blackwater out'a my plugged septic system this afternoon.

That's why you need a larger saw with a muffler mod.All is well...
A bit of a late evening last night... but all is well.
I forgot to ask what time everyone rolls out... but it's 5:30 now, and with all the windows open in the house, I'm thinkin' some sort'a internal combustion engine is in order

Man, when it rains it pours!I actually have relatives (wife's side) from Miami, FL coming today... them and their 5 kid (ages 11 to new born).
So... we've been trying to get ready for this, and it's been a week from hell. Not only did the septic plug, the water pressure tank started leaking, the grass cutter sputtered and quit, and the vacuum cleaner quit. And to top it all off, while I'm working on the septic yesterday the wife gets in her van to go into town for "supplies" and the friggin' alternator has crapped-out.
Weather radar shows a thunderstorm bearing down on us right now... should be here within the hour.
Any bets on where the only lightening bolt will strike
I mean, if you're gonna' host a family reunion and have 7 house guests for 4 days, and the running water quits, then the toilet quits, ya' can't clean the carpet or cut the grass, and the grocery hauler dies... why not have the electricity quit also?? A perfect end to a week from hell‼
I better go check the beer fridge, it likely went up in smoke overnight.
...LMAO!! Good one...Man, when it rains it pours!
Been here since '98...never a bit of trouble from the water heater. BIL/SIL n fam come for the weekend, SIL had one of them weeks and hadn't showered for a day or so, she says "man, it's gonna feel so good to have a hot shower" (I'm sure you see where this is going by now) Yup, warm water soon turns to cold.
Can't say I've ever had a run like yours though spidey, hope ya have better luck for the remainder of this lil shindig.
At least ya only had to fix the mower, van and vacuum. Landlord fixes the well and septic...right!?
