My old Wescos' have been rebuilt some many times theres nothing left to stitch to. Whats a good brand of corks...something that'll last. Bearing in mind that I'm sixty so they won't have to last more than twenty years:D. Treeslingr', tek9tim, clearance, smokechase, anybody that lives in their corks...let me know. Thanks Bob

Hoffman, I have two pair one all leather one pacs. For the money good boots.
Nick's.
Viberg.
White's are okay, not what they were.
Madsen's has a few diffrent ones.
Bailey's also.

Viberg, Victoria B.C. My last pair lasted for 12 years, got a new pair, they are over $400 Cdn. but worth it.

Vibergs can be rebuilt, they have thier own website, you'll find it. I hear you have to wear the Logger Champ caulks in them or they won't fix them, or caulks like that, Dayton or whatever. I really like those Cermec caulks, they don't wear down much at all, not allowed, apparently.

I go through a pair a Wesco's a summer season (or close) I just buy new ones - rebuilding is around $190 and you have to wait forever. In the winter I wear Miendls (sp) Hoffman puts another rubber sole on them and Caulks. I also sometimes wear my Merrill caulked hikers. Those are awesome and hold up good. Problem is I wear Dickies double kneed pants in the summer and saw chips fill my hikers.
I hate Whites - I have tried numerous brands and Wescos are best for me.

I fight fire in rocky terrain, so I don't use corks. But I have had a pair of lace-to-toe Nick's and White's, and prefer the White's. Never had Wescos, seen a lot crap the bed in one season. Boots are such a highly indivdual thing, it's really hard to recommend something. I'll just tell you what works for me.

I have tried many brands and have had the best luck with Red Dawgs from baileys. I have never got more than a year out of any pair of boots, but I also work on steep ground all the time. As far as rubber chaulks go, They are all junk! I stopped wasting my money on them. You cant beat the Baileys brand for the price. Good Luck!!!!

I've been pleased with my Madsen's calks. They've held up well for me.
