Stihl 440,

When you get to working on that saw I think I have a carb if you need it.
I actually have a whole parts saw.

Mike

Thanks buddy i appreciate it...ill let you know what i run into with it.:msp_thumbup:

I already checked, measured, and compared both bars side by side.....oil holes and slots are identical as well. One step ahead bud..lol;)

I dont know if pm610 bars are the same mount as the 10-10...if so then identical.

BTW, where the heck do I get rings for this thing? I know the one I have needs new ring(s) and piston, if one could be found. It's scored to hell from being run on premixed 100:1 outboard oil. (my uncle... not really the kind of guy that is the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to certain things)

Cool, thanks for the help guys. These are times to revive 'dead' threads.

I will check the bar oiler holes and slots between the 20" bar on the PM610 and the 18" bar on the Craftsman. Since it all sounds like it works, I am not expecting to have to do much to get a new Powermatch to work. :) However, I may not get to this for some time. When I do, I'll be sure to make a detailed account of it in the thread of the rebuild.

Sorry, they do not make a new Powermatch in a old Mac 276 mount anymore, they use a Poulan/Echo D176 mount on them now and oil through the adjuster hole on them.

Why is it the wiser choice? The Poulan K041 mount is virtually the same as the older Mac mount anyway.

You could also in about 5 minutes modify a small Husky K095 mount to work also.

Here is the K041 mount on a Mac.

Why wiser choice?...direct bolt up and durability.

Hmm... NOS bars that I plan to acquire over time will work fine then. :) I already have a 28" bar for it... :greenchainsaw:

Just gotta get the damn thing to run real good; needs: rings, carb rebuild, case resealing, new fuel lines, possible fuel tank leak gotta be fixed, on and on.

Rings?.....i took my piston to my dealer and he took it around back and found a set for it....i dont know exacty what they where for...but they work. You got a good husky or stihl dealer around?...maybe do the same?

Maybe, maybe not.

The K041 is pretty much direct bolt up as well.

The other thing to look at is availiabilty. Like I said, no old style Mac 276 mount Power Match bars are made any more and have not been for years.

Your stuck with old used bars or expesive NOS bars.

It seems that Bailys will make up a K041 mount power match with a 3/8's tip so that can stll be had if needed.

Personally, I thiink the .325 setup is the way to go with these that I have ran anyway.

This is the same bar that is on the saw right now...and freshly off of baileys site... item no. 180RNDD176...they still make them...:D Look it up..;)

Yes that will work as well, I think I said that before, and they oil through the adjuster holes.

That is the Poulan/Echo and Mac replacement mount, not the "Mac" mount I thought you were talking about.

They do NOT! oil through the adjuster holes....they have and OIL hole in them!!...as well as the adjuster holes. Calm down POULAN PRO!...LOL:hmm3grin2orange:

Listen here, and listen good. Go mount that D176 bar on your mac and see if the oil hole lines up.

They wont.

It is a replacment for the Mac bar and it oils through the adjuster holes just like the Mac bar did when mounted on the Mac saw.

I'm calm as can be just trying to help you learn somthing.
