I have been checking CL around here after reading some of yours' and other's topics and posts about it, wow now I know why I have never purchased from CL.

I go through this phase now and then ... someone will tell me how they got a Stihl 090 for $100 and I fall into the trap
:nofunny:
That is the other reason I was checking it, how does everyone find these cheap old saws. :D

Its funny this thread showed up...
I called a guy that is selling a saw on craigslist yesterday.
He answered the phone I introduced myself and told him I was calling about the saw he had on craigslist. He spend the next 30 seconds telling me how great the saw was, then another 42 minutes rambling couldn't get a word in edge wish (I had things to do so I put him on speaker phone and went about my business, plus my phone had a full charge)
During his rambling (I didnt pay attention to much). He told me he has a 2 cylinder, electric start Stihl MS660!! :omg:o_O:dizzy: I was impressed to say the least. He also told me that him and a couple of friends go through 1200 feet of chain a week, which is 3 400" rolls.... pretty sure the dude was on something. Well see what tonight brings...
Can't wait to hear the outcome of this meeting. Hurry up and get back home already!

... and Dumber than dirt
That ad is only 20 min from me...I should check it out! Lol

I have bought hundreds of saws off of Craigslist and have gotten many great deals, including a $35 MS200t, a $45 026, a $25 Poulan 5200 and a pair of 056's that cost me $40 after I sold the 2 weedeaters I got with them.

Maybe the idiots are selling Wild Things and I never have to deal with them, but I can't say I have ever had a bad or threatening CL deal. I have walked away from some, but don't think I have ever been taken.

Yeah, we all remember your $35 MS200T that was a good running saw as I recall you saying in the last thread you mentioned it.
I'm sure the guy who the crackhead stole it from remembers it too. :nofunny:

I sell on C'list. Meet at my place over my test log. If the caller sounds shaky I have the son-in-law park his SJPD cruiser in our driveway.

300 USD seems to be the trigger for scammers. Get some who want to send me a check to cover the 'item' and their 'agent' will pick it up. Yeah, right.

What do you rekon this is? http://columbus.craigslist.org/bfd/4841005883.html

I bought this off Craigslist... one owner, just used around the yard, always cleaned and ran out of fuel with every use. It wasn't $35, but it was less than most of the old crap saws I usually see for sale. It now resides in Tennessee, it was too nice for me.

Hillbillies you say
I will tell you like I told the Canadians when I was up there, you keep messing around and I will take you back home and drop you off up in some holler where they think deliverance is a comedy.

How 'bout this "beast"... The seller points out that it's "perfect for chopping oak." And only $350!
