ok ive got my saw with dan henrys,, up to date
modifications..dans real busy these day ,so ill ask for the findings,, of others with henry modified 372s..
i run strictly 20 inch full chisel on this saw..
now on most saws i run about a .18-.20
depth gauge.. im thinking about changing with this saw... its a high rpm saw .. but im thinking,, maybe able to sustain the rpm[in green hardwood]at say .28 depth gauge setting ..
what depth are u fellows running on your 372 henry modified, saws ..appreciate any input..
dan if u happen to see this ,of course id
really like to know your findings.. as u and woodsjunkie among others got to try this particular saw .. this info could really save me some time.thanks again, tony

Tony
After you install the 8 pin rim sprocket, start out with .030. It may want more, just file them down in .002 increments, until you find what it likes in your wood.

ok dan .. i hadnt even thought about changing to 8 pin sprocket .. ill see to it ..
but she got initiated today.. i can see why u say 8 pin and .30 or more depth gauge.. this stuff was just kids play for it..i really thought burying the 20 inch in hardwood would pull it dn ,, some surely.. but like i said it was just playin with it today .. im hesitant to change a good thing but ill look into the 8 pin..
dam ,i aint worked this hard in a while ..
my partner 400 started dieing on idle ..which is real aggravating.
im so tired i aint gonna fool with it today..
im thinking i need to rich up the low setting a bit. any suggestion as to ideas to try will be appreciated.. dang thing worked me harder than the 372 .. with it i jus have to relearn it,so i keep the hinges rite an dont cut furthur than i planned..
ps dan i can see u did some other things ,to the saw that needed to be done.. thanks bud..come down an drink tht beer u said i owed u..id love some company..we ll eat at the local cafes here ,as id like the people i see every day to meet u.

i got my i,on this blond with a smile that will melt an iceberg.. got good sense to ,,as she manages the place.. she just gotta decide if she wants to unload her present friend..i told her,, i dont mess with another mans dream. i thank theys a song about that ..either way i may just break my rule on that....nobody will ever be libby [wife]... problem is ,libby aint libby any more either..least not the one i married.. i aint never gonna be no keep up with the joneses person.. i dont even likeum much.
yep boys ive decided to go off the wagon for the weekend..i wus hurting so bad after work today ,it didnt make sense not to..yall have a great weeknd .. mines starting to look good..
now if i just dont make a fool outa myself...:) what .. what.. yall think im already there huh..:D
ps 066 aint bothering me.. they beat me ,,so be it .. but the name of the game ,,is show me:)

Hey Tony, you`re old enough to know what`s right for you, just be safe. I`m sorry that things went south with your marriage Bud, hang in there, things get better.

Russ

thanks russ.. i think the worst mite be over..never experienced that much lonelyness...didnt know it could be a tangible thing that u could cut with a knife.. but live an learn.. but mostly live..:)

thot id clearify something.. i just finished 2 weeks with no booze of any kind.. i did it to see if it bothered me at all ,that there was no alcohol in the house..
results ,first day i did miss that drink id gotton use to.. but no anxiety which is what i was checking for..
more than u wanted to know ,, but the, off the wagon statement,, called for it....
still gonna be careful tho.. i been thru a dangerouse time..more to come,, probably ,but i can handle it..chainsaw..:)

Tony, I'm using 72LG on a 18" bar on mine. I use the file-o-plate which I think brings em down to .025. I really enjoy this saw and it's quick. Here's a 20" + red maple, there's about 45 bowl blanks in the truck. Lowballing these at $10 per, comes out to $500 per hour, Good money when you can get it :D

Dan, the saw runs stronger now, then when I first got it back. It can really cut!

hey trimmed .. i bet that sucker is sho nuff bad, with 18 inch bar..
i adjusted one o my chains to .030 depth ,last nite.. ill let yall know if i like it better..one things for sure .. with that much bite ,,im gonna have to be carefulll and hold on tite.. if i dont i could be doing cartwheels:)

Tony
That saw will pull the chain, that you have set up that way, an then it will ask for more. Then you will see why you need the 8 pin. I ran that saw with an 8 pin, it liked it.
Trimmed
Glad to here that the saw is coming to life. It still look mint in the picture.
Tony's saw has some new technology in it now. Lets just saw, I have been at school for a while. It has at least a 1 hp gain over the one that you have. and I know yours works well.

WOW! That`s an almost verbatim quote from Greffard when talking about my 385 and Wade`s 2186! Uncanny!

Hi
I could care less what Dennis told you about your 385. If I am not mistaken, I offered to repair both of those saws.
At any rate, thanks for your kind words.
( Uncanny!) My thoughts exactly!

I wont post what all is done to the saws, nor will I tell anyone. It will only turn this thread into a big pissing match. Send a PM out to rockyj, he has one of them. He also has one of my first ones.

Yes you did, atleast in regard to my 385, I don`t know about Wades saw. It was a gentlemanly thing to do but I decided that I didn`t want to put any more money into the 385, and as I recall you stated something to the effect that the 385s weren`t showing large improvements like the 372. I figured that it would be good money after bad.

It just struck me as very unusual that you and Dennis have now come to an understanding that anything negative ever said about either of you wasn`t true, and now you`re even saying the things that he has said. That`s creepy!

I`ve said it before and I`ll say it again, I like Dennis to talk to but his business accumen leaves alot to be desired and he`d be the last guy that I would ally myself with if anyone was nipping at my heels.

BTW, where is Rocky? He`s been awfully quiet lately.

I suspect he got tired of people griping about him. He appears rather thin-skinned.

And I was just getting ready to show the port work I did on my nitro minimac 32cc,18.2hp,and 26,000rpm:D :D

So let me get this straight. You have developed new technology, but you wont tell anyone what it is? I perspective customer would have to be pretty trusting to buy into somehting like this with out knowing what he was gettin, no?
