A brilliant masterstroke of a suggestion! Moving tangential threads when they devolve into beerchat would lessen the overlaod in CTCAC.

Mike M. and I have had our disagreements but not this time. I totally agree with his suggestion.
I also realize that some topics get way off base but also look at them as brainstorming sessions that sometimes produces a very worthwhile new thread.
Keep up the good work JPS!!

I thought of that too, but then I'm an archivist, not moderator.

combing through the threads takes more time then moving them when I see them, or when someone emails me about it.

Too many

Without a doubt there is too many topics to choose from.
I have only been on-site for a short time and I can already tell that action is right here. I don't even do conventional tree work and the synergy that comes into my threads is awesome.

Less government is always my choice.

However, a little reminder here and there wouldn't hurt.

Good Luck!

i don't look at moving 'lost' threads to their proper place as BigGovern-Meant. i think there is so much info; easy to lose some; especially at this pace!

i (OMG!) like (Ohhhhhhhh geeeez) MM's :)eek: ) idea( ) too!

Okay, said it; please don't make me repeat it!;) ; i can only take so much in the mourning after!

i think it would serve both purposes of normal progression and archiving for searchability.

I'm with mike maas...
leave em for a while... then move em...
I would also suggest we all could contribute to making this a better site by rating the threads we think have value... I'll have to remember that myself.
I come here to learn and share.. get the blood puming to my brain.. And I enjoy the comraderie and perspectives here...

Mike, Ya little doofus. Sometimes you are brilliant. Remember -when you start glowing it is best to release your grip on the primary wire.:p

I concur. Implementing Mike's idea would be good for the whole site.:)

I was thinking, "how many gray hairs does one get from being a mod" would be a better question.

:D

(But hey, that's what "Just for Men" is for... keeps me looking young!

Are you kidding? With a 4 yr old and a 17 yr old at home? You KNOW what they're from!;)

:D

The best thing about little kids?

If I'm sitting on the floor playing with toys by myself, I'm nuts...

Add the kid? And it's a whole different ballgame. :D

You can do stuff you'd otherwise be crammed in a rubber room for!
