So all this southern food talk.... took my groundie to a southern cooking restaurant for lunch and I tried some collard greens (not bad), peach cobbler (delicious), stewed tomatoes (good), and of course the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, shrimp, coleslaw, etc. She had the catfish.
Cokes come in a quart mason jar. A real southern place. (ya know, guys with bib overalls and all that stuff)
Collards are OK at some restaurants, very few though. But they are down right fine eaten cooked at home, or at most any old lady's house!!!

Some saws I would like to try as I never have:
Stihl MS261, 361, 046/460/461 (one of each for comparison) MS200T, MS201T
Huskys in any of the xp models, especially the 346 and its cousins except for the 372.
Any really big saws
Makita 6400 and 7900 family
Anything ported (especially next to a stock saw)

Saws I can show up with:
Stihl 070, 026, 039, 044, 019T, MS660
Maybes are: Stihl 025, 036, MS290, MS310, Poulan 4000, Mac 10-10
I wouldn't run any Huskys if I were you, especial any XPs'... Just trying to help. ;)

fearofpavement, if y'all ate collards at a restaurant and liked them, you gotta try some fresh greens. My personal favorite is a 50/50 blend of mustard and turnip greens. Nothing like fresh greens...

Saws I would like to try:

044/MS440 ported (to compare to mine)
046/MS460 ported
066/MS660 stock (to compare to the ported 046)
088/MS880
084
090
I'm planning on doing some chainsaw milling...

I'll bring my MS440, 024AV, Husqvarna 51 (if I can get it to run) and my Grandad's Homelite XL923.

I have an awesomely ported 440 Randy did. It will get with it. The 51, got one of those I'm bring too, it ain't stock. Randy again.
Plenty of shade available (under roof) or you can take your chair into the woods if you want to sit under a tree.
After I asked I remembered you had the hanger there and I do have my slide-in I can climb in to get a break. Don't want to go to the woods, it may be too far from the food.

I'll bring my 261 and 200T.

The 261 will probably be the one to go to Mista Monkey as my November saw.

Never herd of a powder wedge before, but I gotta have one now!

I've always wanted to take a quarter stick of dyno and load it in a round of wood....I gotta feeling it would be all splinters lol.
Amazing what this much will do in a rock....
Repeat firewood thieves learn about quarter sticks on their second rodeo in these parts......

Had some volunteer helpers yesterday around the airbase so we got some mowing, trimming, and general clean up done. Was able to get some roofing metal, red iron and cribbing timbers moved from under one of the roofed areas so that space will be available for rain/sun protection at the GTG. I also smoothed the grassy areas I tore up moving logs with the Bobcat. I returned the Bobcat and trailer to my place, returned the borrowed grapple to my buddy and did some planning on how and where to have cutting logs set up. Things are slowly coming together...

Not to rain on a parade of assorted bad guy parts floating down from the sky..but what happens if the thieves are selling the wood to innocent third parties?
If it was to happen, nothing. It burns like paper. If it starts getting a bit old, it leeches out of the tube sometimes and we have to properly dispose of it instead of using it. Properly disposing of it equals building a fire and tossing in the bad sticks. Kinda makes a man leary though when you toss half a box in a fire though lol.
