If it was to happen, nothing. It burns like paper. If it starts getting a bit old, it leeches out of the tube sometimes and we have to properly dispose of it instead of using it. Properly disposing of it equals building a fire and tossing in the bad sticks. Kinda makes a man leary though when you toss half a box in a fire though lol.

I wonder embedded inside a log, hidden, and then inside a woodstove..would you get the same result, just a burn, or a kaboom?

I am just leery, not even joking, about human booby traps. Don't like to even think about it, much as I despise badguys and thieves.

Youd never know it was there. Without the charge from the cap it wont do anything.

People just have a hard time believing that. I did explosives disposal in the military and it always made me smile to see someones face when that was an option given. I preferred the dig a hole and make it go bang as a disposal method. I disliked the render safe and move it somewhere else method. Back to the GTG, the more shade the better. It's a great place to eat and socialize. Hopefully we won't have to resort to dynamite to have some fun.

Ok guys, the GTG is getting closer and so we're going to start gathering up names of people intending to come. Here are some items to bring potluck.
Beans (baked)
potato salad
slaw
soft drinks (no alcohol please)
chips, pretzels, other crunchy stuff
Iced tea (sweet and unsweet)
desserts (whatever will travel well)
Jar of dill slices (for bbq sandwiches)
Ketchup, relish, mustard

What we will provide:
Venue
80 Logs to cut
Pulled pork bbq
hot dogs
buns for both
some soft drinks
Lemonade
Drinking water
A grill to do hot dogs on
chopped onions
paper plates, flatware, cups, napkins, etc.

What participants can bring:
Saws and stuff to run them with.
PPE
folding chairs/camp chairs. Benches and some chairs will be available so if you don't have one, don't worry.
Racing cants (I don't have any)
Big wood if we don't get any ahead of time
Cash for purchases in case someone is selling something you can't live without
Cash for glider rides if you decide to participate in that. (and please let me know if you're interested so I can set that up)

We will plan on beginning about 09:00 and go until dark or you leave. We will do this rain or shine.
Details will continue to be added to the first post and I will provide specific directions closer to the time. We will also mark the route with signs once you get on the right road.

Pick out what you're going to bring and on the sign up thread, put that beside your name(s)
I am looking forward to this event and hope lots of ya'll come.

I can bring some drinks and some sort of side, have to check with the cook here, and..if there's some sort of race, how about a nice ribeye for the winner? Got me own beef here in the freezer.

Question, overnight camping at the venue? If so, I can stay and help clean up the next day. Not big on driving at night any more, can't see good...skeery

Been working on the ratsun to make the trip in, dang, never realized what a rat it was..heheh, whadddya want for a 450 buck ride..., still is ratty but she got new shoes, shocks, bearings, balljoint and some other do dads.

We can accommodate self contained camping. (or primitive) There's space.

If it's a six cylinder and you need a set of main bearings, I've got some NOS ones here next to my chair you can have. They fit the L20, L24, L28, and they're 2.5mm undersize. Vandervell brand. Free if you can use them.

Thanks for the offer, different engine though. Mine is the sd22 4 cylinder diesel. I think of my little truck as an economy car with great/fantastic mileage and a real big roomy trunk.... Took me years and years to find a real cheap used one, and wonder of wonders, got it from another worker on the farm. Been driving it local and restoring it slowly but surely. The body is crapola, but the drivetrain and brakes are OK, not fabulous, but OK. Just ordered a new master cylinder today for it.

I haven't been further than three counties away in 8 years....and I think three years ago for that. I rarely drive past where I can eat a tow, hahahaha!
