Ebay screw up

You can purchase a new piston and cylinder for that saw from Bailies for about $99USD or $483.57 Canadian. If the saw is in good shape other than that.... I would ask for $50 back, buy a new cylinder assembly, and use it like you stole it. A good condition 044 on ebay sells for $300 and up.

I am not going to defend the guy but he did give a couple idications that it may not be a great buy. Here is his description . This is a Stihl 044 powerhead that was a great runner 3 years ago, until the bar was removed. It is basically complete. It is missing the oil cap also I see. It has great compression too.Any questions please feel free to ask.

He does not mention anywhere that is still runs. Now obviuously his mention of good compression is a problem and that is where he lies. Up to that point all indications are a parts saw. Another thing is the BIN price. When 044's are selling at twice that price the cheap price should be seen as a red flag. I hope it all works out for you.
