yes i removed a big black walnut in full summertime got the stuff all over me i was one big red itch ... my helps lips swelled up

i have never noticed black walnut doing that. in fact i have never heard of sap producing a burn. though it woodnt suprise me. i know the tanic acid in english walnut will turn your hands/clothing safety orange as will some white oak, (oregon)maple and alder. it stings to get it in your eyes. but fortunately it has never put a rash or burns on my skin.

Never had walnut burn me, but when trimming shrubbery the junipers get me every time. Particularly the gold variety, they have some kind of dust on them that burns the crap out of my skin and makes me itch like crazy. Sometimes the arbor vidae seem to have it too, but only at certain times of the year.

I was referring to the tulip poplar. Sorry, forgot to mention. They get pretty tall, easy to climb, cut, and have a good smell.
Sycamore trees are terrible to me. I have allergic reaction to the dust.
I've often wanted to climb a Redwood. That would be the ultimate.

I love anything big and spreading such as bur oaks.

My favorite jobs are in oak stands where i can traverse from treee to tree and do several in one ascent.

My favorite is huge oak trees, like this one. I was a little scared to post this pic of me with out a helmet, and my ground man. We have started Waring them since the pics were taken. This tree took me all day to trim. I did not bid enough for it to take all day, but I loved climbing it.

My least favorite is pine trees.

Someday I hope to have the opportunity to climb a Redwood. I saw a short video on recreational climbing of redwoods that came with my bigshot, and I was blown away by the size of them. Cool pic J.P.

Oxman and Beranek both do big tree climb guides.

If you can get a trip out there with a few buddies, then I'm sure you could arange something with one of them with an economy of scale. You could probably get group rates on the flight too if you planned it right.
