Hi everyone -

I'm David Cassidy, the group publisher at Moose River Media. We publish (among others) Tree Services magazine.

From time to time, we have an advertiser ask us to test one of their products. We have a program set up with out TURF magazine which has been working well for years, but we are starting to get requests from our clients in the tree care industry as well.

The way it works is: we set you up with a dealer. They call you and arrange delivery/pick up of the product. You use the product for a while -- 2 to 4 weeks is normal -- take a few pictures (this part is very important) -- then write up what we call a "Field Test" of the gear. These are around 1000 words or so, giving your impression of the product. How did it work on the job? Was it easy to use? Comfortable? We're not trying to slam companies, but constructive criticism (or even better, suggestions on how to make a product better) are welcome.

After the test period, the dealer takes the gear back. Sometimes, if a tester really likes a piece of gear, they can cut a deal with the dealer, but that has nothing to do with us -- you're on your own there.

For this you get fame, fortune, the envy of your peers, and $100 bucks as a "Thank You" from Moose River Media.

If asking this in this forum (or at all) is deemed against the rules here, I apologize. If not, I'm be posting the first piece of gear shortly.

Thanks

David C.

Field Test: Morbark Chipper or stump grinder

Morbark has asked us to find a field tester for one of these pieces of gear:

Beever 12 Brush Chipper
D 52 SPH Stump Grinder
You can check 'em out at:
http://www.morbark.com/Equipment/Equipment.htm

Either one is OK with them.

The tester must be in Massachusetts, Rhode Island or Connecticut.

If you're interested, send me an email with your name, company name, address and phone. Tell me a line or two about your operation, and let me know what you think you'll be able to use the gear on.

I'll go through your responses and pick one. You get the gear -- use it -- take a few photos ---write up your thoughts -- receive the gratitude of the entire industry.

email me at [email protected]

Thanks

Hi guys -

This opportunity is still available.

C'mon . . . there has to be someone in Southern New England who would like to check out this chipper or grinder.

(BTW, if you're currently in the market for a chipper or grinder, this is a great way to give some new gear a real workout -- and get paid for it as well).

Does it come with work. I'm in Southern NE but have no tree work. I'm lucky to have any landscape work :help:.

Try the Northlands Job Corps Vergennes VT.802 877 0115. They also Train for the ACRT Urban Tree Worker Trade. New Trainees that may be the ones that buy you products for years to come. There are only 6 JCC that train for this in the hole US

What About Michigan?!

Winn Michigan isn't that far from Muskegon, where I live and work. Been subbing out the small, hard-to-get-at stumps. I'd like to try that d52 out. Could give 'er run for the money. I know we have a Rayco and Vermeer dealer not far from here, Grand Rapids, I believe. What's up with Morbark? Call me. I'll even make you a video if it's that great of a machine.

Maine??

Hey there, don't know if it's too late, but I'd be willing to do it in Maine, though I think that's not in the area you are looking for. Let me know if I can help!
