A Dolmar saw (5100SH), imported "back" here, turned out to cost less than 2/3 (including freight two ways over the Atlantic, the last one by air) of what a locally bought 5000H would have cost........
I believe it would have been about the same story with most better Huskys, but not with the better Stihl models.
Pricing in not logic, when the market is different.......
agreed, to a point. durable goods are generally priced differently according to different markets and consumables are generally similarly priced in different markets. Taxes and protectionism generally (but not always) are a greater impact than anything else.
I can't see chainsaw files being on either hitlist....
