Although good pictures, it reminds me of those Walt Disney view finder thingees with the circular disc with multiple pictures.

I guess you could use this crap as firewood. This is just a little of what I got rid of from our ice storm in December. The one last week brought down a few more trees.
 
This is a little better, but this stuff should have been used as veneer, not firewood. The top came out of the yellow poplar during a storm, it was about 22" dbh.
 
This stuff wasn't easy to split, it took several metal wedges and alot of sledge hammer action. Notice the interlocked grain, fun stuff.
 
Here is another Yellow poplar that did not make it through a storm. This one had been hit by lightning a few years earlier and the top was rotten. Luckily when it broke it fell away from the two storage buses, the wood shop, and the power lines it was next to.

I practically live in Carhartt double knee work pants.  It's amazing how many times I get asked "are you cold?".  It seems people mostly equate Carhartt with insulated coveralls around here.

Did you notch that tree or just cut it mostly through and pull it over?
