Hi, new to the forum and just wanted some advice.

I have decided to get a mechanical flipline adjuster to replace my four finger prussic. I just cannot handle the sap buildup anymore. Any suggestions for a good device in the 5/8 to 3/4 range that can handle pitch? I climb alot of Douglas Fir out here.

Thanks for any advice.

Positioner. You probably wont like it at first because it does not react like a prussic but once you have given it a good go and figured how to use it you wont look back.

3/4" ?? Pretty large filp line. Well, to each their own.

I use 2 stlyes of the 1/2" flipline (one is a wirecore) with a petzl microcender (handles lines from 9mm - 13mm).

It is real easy to clean the sap off the mechanical ascender.

What kind of positioner do you use? I have no experience with them, but would like to check one out.

Check out a CMI ropewalker. It is "advertised" as good with dirty rope. I have not used it with dirty rope, but do like it as a flipline adjuster.

The Positioner. Takes a little getting used to but you'll love it! Gotta love the sap!

It is a cam operated flipline tender made by ART and carried by Sherrill.

I tried to fond a picture, but the sherrill search function is down.

I like a VT hitch with 3/8 cord on 11mm climbing line for my lanyard. Though right now it is 1/2 in HiVee.
