Anyone interested? Several logs are 4 foot X 20 inch at least.

They have good heart no worm holes that I can see.

There were 2 trees taken down today about 40 to 50 footers.

No idea of the age of the trees, this wood is stacked on the curb.

PM me if interested

Almost sick to my stomach when I looked out this morning, the city bulk trash truck was loading up the the big black walnut logs across the street.

They were about 40 inch dia & 4 ft. long, just to heavy for this ole man.

I hired a local kid down the street & got a few of the lighter logs but the big ones we had to leave.

wished I were closer, would've brought my trailer to load'em up on.

i'll see that and raise you this:
this morning my co worker (buddy) and i were driving to the work site and we drove past the state capitol when we saw a tree service getting ready to take down a huge white oak from the capitol grounds. straight as an arrow, with a 25 ft clear trunk, no limbs. so we pull over and i politely ask a ground man if they were gonna do something with the trunk section. "oh yeah, he says, i think they're gonna do something with that." i told him we figured they'd knew some bandsawyer who'd be interested in that nice of wood, especially with some backstory (being probably 80-100 yrs old from the capitol grounds). "yeah, he affirms, that's all spoken for." fair enough, i said, and wished him good luck.
fast forward to our lunch break, and we round the corner headed for the shop and what do we see: every single piece of that beautiful tree is bucked into firewood sized 2-4' pieces. AND, every piece that we can see is clear as a bell with not rot anywhere. ARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH..... what a waste. it was so frustrating to see all that beautiful lumber going (essentially) into the burn pile. oh well, not much to be done. sorry to hear about that walnut.
anyways,
cheers
