I'm going on my belated honey moon to San Fran, Sonoma, and Eureka Cali. In 1 1/2 weeks. I'll be making love in the Red Woods, my fantasy finally fulfilled, lol. Any one live out that way close that wants to spot me a saddle and a flipline? lol, I'd love to take one High Climber style. Shoot, I'll work a day for free.

To work a day for free on vacation, no, honeymoon...I feel your passion for the trees, but on your honeymoon???? I haven't taken a vacation in years without sneakin in some tree work. Did I mention, but on your HONEYMOON?????

I used to haul lumber out of Ft Bragg not to far from Eureka and I have a friend that grew up their and still resides there. That is some beautiful country with some tall trees.

####, Homey, you know I packed gear to go on my honeymoon... well other gear besides the honeymoon gear. We used a lot of honey.
But I was rappelling down from about 180 feet into the clear blue ocean, into the waves hitting the rocks. People were asking what the hell I was doing I said " I am on my honeymoon!"
If I am getting on a plane chances are I am taking ropes and if I think the licquor is going to be expensive I bring my own then too, my wife will get me a speedo at the gift shop at the hotel so I am all set. I usually prefer islands with no drunk driving laws to impede my relaxation.

I spent some vaca in Sonoma and Mendicino counties... Beautiful country... Even got to see some residential tree work done there and was able to talk to a 63 YO climber right after he took down a huge Redwood that was encircled by a deck... What I discerned from that whole exchange is that they work awful cheap in Northern California...

Have fun and enjoy the sights anyway though! ;)

Not a real big deal, I didn't think so anyway. She gets here wine and vinyards and whatnot and all I'm asking for is some climbing and cutting. If I was driving it would be all over with my gear and the whole bit.

Then my day rate should fall right in line, what's not to love? ;)
