Can you please measure the belt for the following?
1. Width
2. Length; wrap a string around then measure length of string.
3. Pitch; measure center-to-center distance of two "teeth" or cogs on the belt.

It was alot of fun. I got good and tearing it down and reassembling. When I replaced the case half yesterday, I think it took me just over 2 hours from start to finish. Once you figure out how these saws go together, it's pretty easy.
What I'd really like to find now is a original bow assembly. Probably never happen, but one can dream.
Well done on a great looking and running saw. Nice pics of the big old girl in action as well. She looks to be in great original shape - a few scars here and there from no doubt doing battle with some big timber many years ago.

Strange how the exterior is in such good shape for a 1956 saw, but the engines bearings were shot. I also replaced the clutch drum ball bearings since those were ruff and grabby.
True enough, I can find no evidence the saw was ever repainted. Clearly the cylinder shroud is the wrong shade of green but nevermind that.
I know Nitroman doesn't need the measurements, but I had a moment so I'll post them for those interested.
For the 26LCS, belt# 71270: pitch 35/64", width 23/32", length 22 15/16"
For the 5-30, 5-30N, 7-29, 8-29, belt# 73216: pitch 35/64", width 1 1/16", length 22 15/16"
As you can see, the only difference is the width. The 20MCS, I'm not so sure but I imagine it'll be the same as the 26. The part numbers I got from 3 IPLs.

From McMaster-Carr I see the pitch as 1/2" and several belts available. From their instructions, measuring with a string, then deduct 10% for stretch, so a 21" belt would fit. As an alternative, the same belting can be ordered as a length, and the ends joined to make a belt if the length were critical. I assume you'd have to take the belting to a place that has the equipment to join the belts, any rubber hose supply house could do it.
There are 3 belts up for grabs and they are all spoken for. Lee, JJ, and Nitroman have first dibs. Take note of what I said the belts cost. This is the dealer's price, I'm not making a cent off this.
OK. Here's some video I took this afternoon. Take note, the oscillation in the RPM towards the end of the cut and after I'm done cutting is the governor doing its job. I have the carby leaned out just enough to eliminate smoking, as per the owner's manual.
The compression on this saw is now pushing 180psi. Starts in the 3 pulls with the choke, takes just a bit of warming up.
