This was my Friday score. It's a old Homelite. The cutting length is 26" from the spikes to the tip of the bow. I have no clue what do with it but it came as a package with a Stihl 011,017, MS 250 and 064AV. What's this old saw worth? I don't know if it runs but it turns over. I figure worst case it's a good converstation piece. The Chain looks like new.

Tillotson HP carb, good luck with it, but bar should fit any gear drive Homey.
Igpoe:cheers:

All I can say is, based on my gear drive Homie, pick up the log a few dozen times before you cut it so the saw seems light .

I don't know if I'll keep it or sell it. If it won't bring much i'll keep it. I still have the 011-017-210 and the 064 I picked up with the deal to sell.

Before you start rebuilding it check on what carb. it has. Mine has a Tillotson HP 1A. I looked about 6 mo. before I found a kit. My saw has copper fuel lines. If it has rubber lines it is a model 17 L and has a Tillotson HP 4A carb. If you decide to sell it I would be interested in the bar and chain. Tom Tom

It has the Rubber lines. I have no intentions of rebuilding it. If anything it will be a sit on the shelf saw. Everyone that has seen asked me " What the heck is it" and has anyone died using it. If it was worth something i'd consider selling it. I'm open to offers if anyone has any interest.

I like the shape of that bow.....

Just a little information. This is not a bow saw. Bow saws are the big round bar. Homelite called this a clearing guide. They were good to use to cut up tops and small stuff on the end. When the direct drive saws came out, these saws were not so popular.

If you were to get the saw running then it would be worth more.
Right now the bar and chain is worth more then the power head

That bar is what we called a bow bar. We ran bars just like that and thinned
with them. They are excellent for that. We ran them on Macs.

You just stick that dog against the tree and pull thr trigger. On the "bigger" lodgepole, you place the dog against the tree, run the saw with one hand, and push with the other.

You can cover a lot of ground in a day, until you don't check for that rock that is against the back of the tree.

LOL, says in that advertisement that ''you can use it one handed, and use the other hand to push over small trees''.

What's that saw weigh with the bar, 25 pound ??? Doesn't look very dainty to me, anyway. Anyone who is going to pick that up and use it like a top handle musta had more :censored: wheaties for breakfast than I did.:)
