Just found an ebay listing for a super 1050E.

You gotta read the description.

"The 1050E will answer to a host of elegant epithets: it is at once elemental, electric, enchanting, and embarrassing. It is elevated and enamored by Homelite esthetes yet considered egregious and excremental by their enraged neighbors. The emissions and earpain it engenders will enthrall you but will also engage encephalopathy. ENOUGH!"

Speak LOUDER I can't hear you. I've got 2 super 1050's with no guts in the mufler, actually I did put a spark arrester in one of them, but I still can't hear you, Joe.

While I'm here, does anyone have a bar for my 1050 in the 48" range. I have a big Maple log I want to slab and my 36"er won't quite make it. What other bars can be adapted to the 1050 mounts if the big Homey bars are too pricey? Thanks, Joe.

150 Auto

Got a message from ChainsawLady - thanks a ton - she confirmed along with you guys, not to pull the tank apart. As I've pulled the powerhead, it does appear to be a fuel line issue. My searches have led me to believe that it takes .117"id .211od fuel line. My dealer didn't have any, but said he would order, and it would be here tomorrow. Sweet.

Okey dokey - we're off and running! Got a new sprocket and bearing on it's way.

Question - my red gas cap has a brass filter on it. If I tip the saw to any angle, it pisses out gas from here. Is there a valve that is supposed to be behind that brass filter that could be stuck open?

homlite 410

Does anyone know of someone that still has parts stocks for older homellite saws? I need a few misc. parts for a 410 that i picked up and would like to support a sponsor or person here, and would rather not buy 10 parts from 10 different people on ebay. I have a complete list plus part numbers, but most of the items are NLA from distributors locally. Ideas, suggestions?

It was hot and last minute..."lets cut some wood" and I wanted to set a good example for my daughter about safety. She even mentioned that it was good to wear your stuff.:msp_razz:

 Good thinking. It only takes a couple minutes to throw the gear on.
Now...get that left thumb wrapped under the bar ! That's a more effective safety device than any gear you can wear.

Nice saw. I'm still waiting for a 750 to find me. Then my collection will be complete and I won't have to buy any more saws.:rolleyes2:

Hah that's what you think.... The more you get, the more you want.

You guys were right - old duckbill completely disintegrated. Resembled heavy black grease. Now on the hunt. Wish my local shop had them, they ordered 5, but apparently Oregon is on backorder for them... hmmmm.... Seems silly to pay shipping on such a little thing. I'd like to find someone who can send me two in the mail.

Sometimes, and I think this one of them, the shop has to order 10 of something to get 1 or 2. PM me a part number, I may have a couple. BTW, shops like it when somebody orders something like that, as they get the other 8 shipped free. Shipping is nuts again w/ the fuel prices up.

That's funny - I never put two and two together. Whenever the duckbill is missing on an old saw, there is always black heavy grease where it used to be. I thought that people were trying to stop the gas leak with grease...... duh....

Thanks for enlightening me.

new to me saw...
