The "4" in the UT is pretty clear, now the Super1050A UT number is 10139A. It looks exactly like mine, your saw and mine came from the same seller. Orange in color! Any numbers inside the carb box and what carb is it? Also, is the high speed jet a fixed jet and the only adjustment is for low? That one had the better muffler cover too!!!

Where is the picture of the c-72????
AND what else did you get while there....he had a BUNCH of saws to pick through. Playin' possum on us??

Fixed jet, Im thinking it might be a Homelite carb :(

A lot of the Walbro SDC carbs Homelite used say "Homelite" on them. Walbro made most of the carbs for Homelite towards the end of "the Real Homelites" (before the dark times where they are now). Homelite also used some Zama carbs towards the end of things. Seen a few on late SXL-AO saws. I hope they didn't defile the last of the 1050's with them...

Nice scores. I'd like to luck out on C72 and a 1050 saws that are cheap and local........................even if they're painted orange!

I have a friend who bought one of the last 1050Supers new............and it came with that damn fixed HS-jet SDC. Sez it ran like crap with that carb. Swapped a Tilly HL in and never looked back. He still runs that saw (along with many other Homelites) after almost 30 years of pro firewood cutting...

I paid $130 for it. I was in my local saw shop earlier this summer and it was in the repair pile. I asked the shop owner about the saw and he gave me the saw owner's phone number. I called him and after a few months of thinking about it, he sold me the saw. I'm happy to have it for a memory. As best I can remember, it's the saw I learned to buck with on the woodpile when I was 12 years old.

pretty big saw for a 12 year old bet it looks and feels smaller now.I'm sorry just giving shi-.It looks good wish I had it

Nice saw Wilson_tree.

Would a adjustable carb off a XP 1000 fit on the 1050-1020, what ever the heck it is.

Now I just need to get one of the C72s running. The latest one was from the DOT saw group and looks like it hasnt hardly had any run time, mostly just riding in the truck

If you have an SDC carb, then your saw is most likely a late production 1050Super. I believe the intake manifold is different for the two carb types (have to look at an IPL to refresh my memory). You can just swap in a manifold from an older Tillotson HL equipped XP1000, XP1020, XP1100, 1130G, 1050, 1050Super, or even a C9 or C91 (except for the very last few C91's which had the flat, non-pyramid reed setup of the C5-C72 saws).

The last of the C91's had the single reed, I believe as a way to make a bigger 'gap' between the outgoing C91 (there was no C92) and the "new, X-tra Power" (XP)1000 saw. In the IPL's there is a serial# break for the change from the pyramid reed setup of the C9/91 to the flat reed. I have been in sporatic, long-term negotiatons with a fellow that has a late production non-pyramid C91. Took some digging in my IPL's to figure out why his saw had a flat reed manifold...

The throttle and choke linkage will probably be different too (between the SDC and Tillotson setups), and you'll also need the rubber grommets for the air box from an Tilly equipped C-Series or XP-Series saw. These seal around the adjustment screws of the Tillotson HL carbs. You have blockoff plugs in the holes for the grommets now.

Hmm, thanks Eccentric

I may just know where there is a XP1000 parts saw hiding in the shop :)
But the saw does run with the SDC.

And donthraen, Im not really sure what the DOTs would have anymore, but worth a shot.

Hear in Ne. their a--holes they probably dull up the Chan's and throw away the saw just like winter they by salt if it don't snow much they went over budget more tax and they wash it down in Jan. if we get lots of snow over budget more tax and wash id down in Jan.Not smart but more TAX

I just got this yesterday. I am the second owner of this Super 1050. It even has the warranty card, manual, and parts list. It's pretty cool because it runs strong, too.

Nice looking Super 1050 and for a good price too.
