super xl 130 question

got this a week ago, no spark, looks like coil shorted to ground. blue prestolite, no p/n on it. has us pat 3405347 on it, are these available, or does some one know something that will work? or have one to sell? saw is too nice shape to not be running... thanks in advance. can get pics if needed.

Look and see if the crank has a points cam ground into it.



If it were me, I'd dig in my box of XL-101 type parts and come up with crankshaft and crankcase cover plate and change it to points ignition.

Or, use a points type coil and an Atom module.

Dang! Just dug thru my junk and I don't have either the flywheel (63637) or the coil (64091).:(

Flywheels are on evilbay but no coils.

P.M. Chainsawlady. Maybe she has something.

ok, thanks for lookin, is that p/n for my coil or points coil? crank case cover has bosses for points [plate?] but not drilled/tapped. tia. pete.
