Well, I thought I would post some pics and start my first thread...

I was helping a great bloke out last week and thought I would see who had some stump removal jobs that could match or beat this one, it is a doozy!

Hey elmore I am wondering if the flare was buried a little low on this one?:jawdrop:

Some 1 has been abusing that guy thats getting ready to cut that stump, look how nervous he is and how he's cowering away from the camera.

ahh takes me back........

makes me shiver about the last time i tried to dig out stumps.Worst ever was a slash pine.2 hours to cut down chip and load logs.8 hours to dig/yank/cut stump out.(Back when grinders where either 2 big or too small)

More recently was taking out a couple cypress for a pool. Those suckers had a tap root that never seemed to end.Had a mini excavator and dug most of the pool for em LOL.Finally after i dug about a 9ft by 15 foot hole i cut the darn things and set the rayco super jr in the hole and ground em down far as i could.

Nightmares i tell ya.And im thinkin there was a mudslide that covered the flare on that one.Didn't look like much fun diggin around it.No envy from me i run from those.HAHA.Good work though hope the price was right.I'd a prolly charged at least 600.00USD to take it that low.

Fyi...

That saw is HOT DAMN HOT an scared me to death with its gruesome power and, nah it was just so darn loud i had to stick ear plugs in!!! (Was just rollin them plugs up to slide em in mah ears...):chainsaw:

why the need to go that low? I usually only grind stumps 10-12" below the surface, the need for any lower calls for the excavator. looks like you ground her down 3'+ deep?

what did you dig around with?

Well...

Eric has this magic spoon he uses to dig holes with when he aint diggin holes with his keyboard around the BCC...

Have ya got a pic of ya magic spoon Eric?

Even the little 1.5 tonne excavator that came in to get the kanga out got bogged!

4 hours I was in that hole!!!!!!!!!!! :dizzy:

And it was a job one of my "mates" gave me, oh yeah, easy stump grind.

Then the pool people pull out their laser level and reckon I gotta keep going deeper and deeper bloody filled the pool up with woodchip again and blew thru the bottom of the stump. Then they decide they want the sides doing a bit too coz the roots going into there cant be gotten by an excavator.

And we aint allowed to hose so i still got mud and crap caked on the ole kanga.

The customer said the stump was there, buried atleast 12 years, no decay, hard as a rock. In fact i reckon it was petrified it was that bloody hard .... so much for decay.
