I have noticed tree service guys have no idea of cutting wood to a desired length. More of cut the wood where they don't have to lift the saw.

Not true, we cut the wood to move it. Cutting every piece to firewood size takes time the customer is not willing to pay for.

And for those of us that do both, I make sure to cut for firewood as I'm going, but I wouldn't expect a non-firewooding arborist to do so.

If I ran a tree service, I'd do firewood, mulch, milling, and maybe even kiln drying of my milled lumber. I always hate to see wasted stuff, and trees are so darn useful in so many ways.

I took a peek at it, but I bought a dump truck earlier this year and I'm out of money. Come on over! I bet you could use a break from the Northeast traffic.
