funny i told my boss your offer & he said jump on it and buy a cheap home depot saw.. can't really understand his logic
tell you, i keep looking at this old 120 foot pine tree in my yard now wondering if i should attemp to take it down if it falls right there's no danger of it hitting the house because i have an acre where it can land..

I forgot what a new 272XP looked like. I will tell you that my first saw was no where near that cool.
Around here you could get $450 pretty easy for it. Don't let anyone Skru you out of it.

all the guys here have been pretty cool.. and the offer i got was right in line with your price..
i know i couldn't replace the saw for the same money. so i plan to keep it

You got a heck of a deal on that saw. Given the level of experience you have be very careful. That is a powerful saw for someone to be learning with. Not trying to discourage you but please be careful. You might want to get a smaller saw to start out with, then start using the 272. Good luck what ever you decide to do.

going down next weekend to her home because she said her basement / shed is chockfull of tools so much so she can't even move around the basement (she says they all look as good as the saw)
hope she has a splitter!!

I picked up a little bit of fishing tackle that way once. This lady said her late husband used to fish and I could have all of his "junk" from the garage. It was pretty much the mother load, around 300 bass lures, about 12 poles (all nice), fly fishing tackle, About 10 very old Shakespeer fly reals, three large tackle boxes, and probably a 50 lb box full of everything else (line, hooks, swivels, sinkers, you name it), then the best part- one large metal tackle box full of lures from the late 1900's and allot of it mint condition. Not to mention the extra's (strange tools and gimicky stuff that I would never buy). I'll bet my boat has gained 100 lbs now.
The same lady told me there used to be two big orange saws in the basement but she thought the plumber stole em, just my luck.

Norfolk is a very nice town! i work in Franklin but live in norfolk - heck i go to Tri-county once a month for lunch in the restruant they have there - great food and even better prices

Hang on to it and take care of it it should last a long time,,,You ar 100% correct,,,, no way can you replace that saw for even 500.00 a new 372 is a bit higher than that..... Awesome find.........

I am as jealous now as I was when some guy at work bought 346XP in the same condition for $50 !!!! I offerd him a 345 and $50 for it. He thought I was up to something and said no.

yup i guess it's a good deal -
considering that some how i pinched the bar today taking down a very small leaning oak and a new 24 inch husky bar from the local power equipment store was $55.00 :banghead:
i can't wait till the lady brings me in the extra bars & chains on Monday
