Husky

Hoosk- war(as in bar)-nuh is how I heard a native Swede pronounce it. BTW Husqvarna dirt bike have been made by Cagiva in Italy for years now.

yes

Similarly, in 1985, Cagiva purchased MotoMorini SpA. Sales declined under Cagiva's management and it was sold to independent investors in 1996. They purchased the motorcycle section of Husqvarna in 1987, and purchased MV Agusta in 1991.

If that's the case... no wonder Husqvarna's bikes are garbage.

Husky dirt bikes have been Italian for almost 20 years now, but Italian manufacturing is lightyears ahead of where it used to be. Ducati, Aprillia, and MV Agusta are all finely crafted bikes. The 2007 Ducati 1098 Superbike is already sold out at the wholesale level, and its barely off of the production line, and this is for a bike that retails for $14,999. Husqvarna's dirt bikes are the best they have been since the Cagiva takeover. They are not a Honda, but not everyone wants a Honda.

I believe the Italian street bikes are awesome! But you just can't touch the jap dirt bikes... All of the major brands (Kawi-Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda) have the market cornered.

yes

But not everyone wants to be in the corner of the market, Hence KTM,Husqvarna,Husaberg, Aprilia, ATK, TM, etc. And while the Japanese Big four might lead sales, go to a Grand National Cross Country event and you will witness a sea of orange(KTM) come off of the start line.

Agreed... Believe it or not I have an old 1988 ATK 406 (Rotax 2-stroke, left side kick start). Talk about a torque monster... Your arms are numb from vibration after about a half hour of riding.

Ahhh but once upon a time I had one of the original rotax engines in my Can-Am that was made by bombardier. That was one fast dirt bike for its size.

This picture is well over 30 years ago, back in the days when I had hair  . I was working underground in a gold mine in Red Lake in Northern Ontario and had put screws in the Tires and drove the Can Am all year round, used to amaze the skidoo's when you met them on the trail. Of course I had a few good spills.

Sweden does make the best dirt bikes, and chainsaws..

Husaberg and Highland (www.highland.se) dirt bikes are awesome.

As are the Husky chainsaws. Isn't it well known already?
Sweden has the hardest steel, the most beautiful blondes, the best food ;)
Seriously, consider what we produce in cars (volvo, saab), ships (kockums stealth corvettes and submarines), fighter jets (Gripen, best in the world), mining machiney(atlas copco), trucks (volvo, scania), enery/power (abb) and the list goes on and on .... with 8 million people. Pretty amazing eh?
Why even consider a boring stihl from boring Germany ;)

But my girlfriend is from Germany and I must say she is nice
