Yeah, I agree. I have no need for these saws but figured someone might. All it takes is a call and I'm sure it'd be pretty easy to smell the BS if any were to be around.

Thomas.

Could have been worse....I just got a "charge back" from a guy who bought a saw in December. He paid Paypal with a Credit card. He states the saw was defective. He totally bypassed eBay and Paypal. I never even got an email from him stating there was a problem. $750 pulled out of my account unexpectedly. And If I get the saw back, I still lose shipping and eBay fees. Pretty nice, free 2 month saw rental.

Thats why ebay is my very last resort to selling a saw.
Ebay gives a much better warranty than the original
manufacturer. Even on used saws.

Holy crap!:dizzy:

Did the seller leave positive feedback? That's nuts. Think I'll only sell 'low value' parts and saws on the bay, and sell/trade the 'bigger ticket' stuff to/with guys I know here and elsewhere...

I don't know that it makes a difference, the system is set up to protect the buyer no matter what.

Yeah, that's one of the many scams with feeBay and Paypal. If the buyer waits past the 45 day feeBay and Paypal dispute period, they still have 60 days to file chargeback claim with their CC co. After 45 days are up, feeBay won't do diddly for you and Paypal only pretends to, and they yank the money right out of your account. You can answer the claim, but, guess who get's to decide the case? The buyer's credit card company....that's who. Their decision is FINAL, no appeals, no nada.

Ever since feeBay changed the rules so that you can only pay with PP (how convenient for them.....) I don't even bother selling there anymore....

I sure wish someone would give them a run for their money and start another auction site--feeBay and Paypal SUCK!!

I wonder what kind of capital and manpower it takes to start a new auction site like ebay. You're getting me curious. I might have to make a call to someone.

go to nopaypal, or paypalsucks.com
The fine print in the terms of service you agreed to will curl your hair. Amoung many things, they can pull money from your bank account if someone you dealt with is a scammer, not even your transaction.... If there is a dispute between you and PP, PP is the arbitrator....

PP requires a linked bank account. I have a debit account iwht maybe $25 in it. Link it, transfer to PP, and unlink it. Even if they keep the info, I have minimal risk. Better than linking a credit card.

Google checkout is a rival but I think only for commercial accounts.

Now that ebay requires PP, won't allow you ato accept cashiers checks, MO, or anything else, I rarely buy or sell there unless absolutely forced to.
