It looks like any parts that were touching were insulated for the charging clamps. Tho older gensets and generator electrical units tend to have a lot of issues if they have been sitting forever.

Certainly can't beat the price. Excuse my ignorance, but what, other than a B & C, does it take to turn that into a chainsaw? Probably a new air filter setup? Remove water feed for the blade? What else?

Aside from the B&C and other associated hardware, you'd probably need to install a complete oiler system.

On most of those you can't. They're specifically set up to be concrete saws and can't be swapped over on most of the brands. I know for a fact the Stihl one I had was so different it wasn't even in the same ball park. And way heavier.

And I don't think its even that easy Ted. The case is different on some brands and there isn't anywhere to put an oiler. The guys at work had an old monster, it might have been a Partner, and it didn't even have an oil tank.

Thank you Chris, and Paladinman too.

Then I'd probably just go get a new wheel and look for something appropriate to cut ...

In any case, well worth the $100.

Husqvarna 346XP Triobrake Chainsaw 18" | eBay

It ain't pretty but should be worth the asking price of $285.

"WE TEST IT WORK FINE YOU BUY NOW!!!"

I love these pawn shops...If you've ever seen them in action they're lower than those ambulance chasing lawyers...they prey on someone's misfortunes. Totally low ball them and then they turn around and ask almost retail then take $10 off. I know they have to make a buck....but don't rob people coming and going.

To convert to a 371K to a chainsaw I had to:

1. Remove all the K plastic and front handle, I got the saw as a basket case.
2. Replace the clutch drum.
3. Add an oil pump and lines.
4. Add chain brake assembly.
5. Add inner bar pad.
6. Add XP air filter and mounting housing.
7. Replace green K coil with XP coil. I used a blue pack. Yes the saw is limited to 13,600 out of wood!
8. replace K air duct with XP air duct from flywheel to carb.
9. Replace front handle with chainsaw handle.
10. Install clutch cover.

To buy all these parts would be cost prohibitive. I was lucky to have had alot of 372 parts kicking around.

The saw is a exactly a 372xp but has 371K markings.

The cheap way out would be to take a 372XP and change the Identification tag and starter cover sticker.

The list froom when Boleclimber did his.
