5.6hp 757W Shindaiwa Chainsaw Powerhead (drives 28"-36" bar)

Im going to have to look for him on flee bay he just clogs CL with over priced ads.. on top of it homeowners see his ads and they think there ms170 is worth $400. Then they call me when it dose not sell and give me a hell of a deal saying they'll sell it to me for $250.. then they get mad at me when I say ill give them $50 for it if it looks new..
Sorry just venting

Yep. That's our clyde. D-bag always has a dozen overpriced chainsaw for-sale ads, as well as at least 1/2 dozen wanted ads. When I had my want ad up a couple years ago, he contacted me saying he'd buy certain models of saws................................and the prices he mentioned (to 'tempt' me to sell to him) were pennies on the dollar for what he lists the same saws for. I suspect that he is the guy that kept flagging my ads too. That 038 that he had listed recently (may still be listed) was up for sale by somebody else a few months ago, for about 1/4 or what clyde has it listed for now...

I priced a new wrap handle for one of these the other day- $130. So it would be worth talking this guy down a bit just to get the wrap handle and a few of the other parts.

I doubt we'd have much luck talking him down Jacob. He's a first class saw maggot.

You really think that's way out of line for a clean full wrap 5200?

Nope.

I am very close to this saw if anyone wants me to get it and drive it over to you. All I ask is some one buy me a car to drive the trip. And Gas...of course. Dinner, and a 3 nite all expense paid excursion to Vegas...maybe some money to gamble with and sight see.

Get it before someone else does. It won't last long guys!

not your fault you are to young to know anything about them. The reed valve saws of that time frame pull like diesels on steriods. You can lean on them and they don't slow down they just get louder. The factory exhaust is free flowing and they will run with any modern saw of the same capacity. The Poulans have the advantage of some pretty effective anti vibe and electronic ignition that keeps the plugs clean evan at 16/1.
They are probably the most user friendly saws of their time period. The fact that there are so many of them out there and cutting wood speaks volumes for thier design. I ran a 4200 for 28 years cutting firewood. There is nothing to not like about a saw that can do that. Mine never did wear out but I lost it in a barn fire. I replaced it with one that has been used a lot more, but still runs like new and blows 180 on my elcheapo compression gage. Once you run one and put in wood you will be hooked. It does everything a modern chain saw is supposed to do....except for keeping the air clean:hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange:

So, torque like my 655?
If I only had the money.....

I have not run a 655 but I am pretty sure many of the Poulan guys have. With 5.2 cubic inches and the reed valves stuffing the case the Poulans don't depend on high revs making horsepower, they get good cylinder filling even at low revs, it makes for a very fat and wide torque curve.....Mark probably has some knowledge of the comparison of a 655 to a 5200.

its 6 CI and reed valved, so similar I'd guess.
I guess I need to start educating myself on the old Poulans more.
Old school to me is my 500VL (only saw I knew most of my life), well, and the old XL, but I haven't gotten into it yet.
