To the original poster of this ad, Mr. Brian Duggan. You are a real piece of work. You post an ad asking a price for an item. I (and several others) respond to the ad, offering to purchase the item for the asking price. You then respond by sending emails telling us that you are surprised at the number of responses, and now you changed your mind, the items are now going to the highest bidder!!??!! What a ********** you are, Mr. Duggan. You can keep your broken chainsaws. Loser.

I wish I could share the original....but I'll shorten the story anyway...

Guy had two saws: a 455 and a J-red 2150 the 455 had a leaky tank and/or carb and the j-red had running/carb issues I guess...

IIRC, he was asking 40ea, both for 75...then received about 26 responses in 7 hrs, so he NOT ONLY proposed a bidding war for everyone, but also changed his ad for 75 ea, or both for 150...

I offered 75-100 each, depending on overall condition, he sold them for....

[drumroll please] 160.

:monkey::monkey:

Loser.

I DID NOT post that, btw...

Rubbish 038 tank on eBay

I stupidly rolled the dice and paid good money for one of those aftermarket 038 tanks on eBay. The cap does not seal. I tried a Stihl cap and no deal. A dodgy housing. Stay clear of these, gentleman!
Anyone have a used 038 tank for sale?:)

If that tank originated from Baileys, and I bet it did, they will send you another one. Just a thought.

Thanks for the thought, but the seller was Cheapchainsawparts - I don't think that is Baileys. Oh well, you live and learn.

There is a Cheapchainsawparts On FEE-bay from out West I think in Iowa, that I have bought some small non-impotent parts from them with no problem, they seemed fishie??
And there is Cheapchainsawparts.com from Tennessee These guy's screwed up my order, bent over backwards to get it right, and did not stop till I was happy with my order, I would do business with them again

Thanks guys.

The guy from Cheapchainsaw parts has kindly offered to replace my 038 tank/handle assembly if I return the faulty one. Good offer.
My problem is I have already paid $32.00 in shipping to Australia (it cost him less than $20.00) and I guess It will cost more in Aussie dollars to ship it back. Gets to a point where you stop pouring money into an old boat.
The new assembly has a faulty tank, mine has a broken handle - I think I wll have a go at grafting my old tank on to the new handle.

That sounds like a stand up offer from Cheapchainsaw, I like your old boat line. I live in Michigan, if you don't have "a hole in the water (boat) To through money into" your "sending good money after bad"

He`s not gonna pay shipping?I had a problem with his 036 crank seals. His auction picture showed a clutch side seal(which I needed), but his part numbers were for the flywheel side.Sent me the wrong seal, not the pictured one. When I emailed him, he gave me anther auction number that had the seal I needed. When i asked him to send me the right one, of course it was my fault and to send it back, but he had neg feedback for parts not showing up when customers sent them back,So now, not only do I have to pay return shipping, I have to pay delivery confirmation, so i know the seal got back to him.By the time it`s all said and done I`ll be paying $21.00 for a stinkin seal.
