Look on the bright side. Old Zach could have taken your money and sold it to sombody else.
Your missing the point.Years ago, when you shook hands or gave your word, it meant something. It meant you were honorable and had charecter.People were different. We could all put a bogus C/L add and screw someone.Thats easy. The thing that really bothered me, is the guy had kids, and you know that type of behavior is taught to them.No ethics.

Wish I had the cash in hand.

Somebody better leap at this.

The one that I lost out on was from a kid. Obviously he was brought up wrong.
On the flip side, I've dealt with mostly good people online. I just bought a truck 2 weeks ago off CL and that went fine.
I was going to drive 1 hr. away yesterday for a saw but the guy said he'll be in my area on Friday and is holding it and bringing it to me.

Many times I've lost out on a saw on CL because someone offered $20 more. It's definitely a tactic for some people to get all the good deals.
Times are tight and it's hard for me to condemn the sellers for taking what they can get.

That said, I've refused extra money when i've promised a saw to one seller that couldn't get here till after work.
And another time I bought a nice Husky for $100 and the seller said someone had offered more, but $100 was the asking price and he was gonna stick with it. Good guy.

More and more the old school manners are out the window, all some people care about is entitlement. It's not just younger people either, the other day I had an older lady close a business door right in my face rather than take the extra 2 seconds to hold it so that I could at least grab it. When I said thanx she wouldn't even look at me. I'm not all that much on religion, but I do relish the idea of some type of judgement day.

Fat Joe I agree totally with you. Maybe we are just dinosaurs but I am darn proud to be one. I try to make my word my bond and will do whatever is necessary to do that even if it means I lose out. The point is that when we make our word and handshake a bond we make a pact of honor. I do hope my children have learned that the old ways are a heck of a lot better then what we see going on today.

Stepping off my soapbox and I do not want to hi-jack a thread here with off topic stuff.......

THIS HOMELITE 150 CHAINSAW IS IN FANTASTIC CONDITION. IT RUNS WELL. IT INCLUDES A HARD CASE, EXTRA CHAIN, AND 2 TOOLS. THE BAR MEASURES 18" FROM THE BOLTS TO THE END. I AM NOT SURE ON THE YEAR I AM THINKING 1960'S. MY GRANDFATHER HAD IT AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER. THE CASE HAS A HAIRLINE CRACK IN IT ABOUT 1 1/2" LONG. IT IS AS PICTURED. PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

Homelite XP1020 chainsaw, runs great. This was my dads last saw he bought new before getting out of logging in the early 1970's. This saw is in super shape for its age. I replaced the fuel line, and cleaned the points, starts and runs great. Bar is a homelite 28 inch, chain is dull but in good shape. Choke knob is not origanal, and muffler gaurd is cracked but in one piece. serial number 2338577. I have used this to clean up a fallen tree, but its more saw than I want to handle ( dads forearms looked like popeye) Should be in a collection or being used instead of gathering dust. Be glad to answer any questions I can. This saw is heavy so pardon the shipping, local pickup encouraged and your welcome to try it out before you buy it.
