Vintage Craftsman Chainsaw

Hope he means a jello like firmness...... My NOS saw did not bring but $200, though it did not have that fancy case with it. 1957??? The first year of that style saw was somewhere closer to 1977.

CL ad guys are often out of their tree when it comes to 'dating' saws. They figure if it's old............then it must be OLD I guess. I've seen jokers call '60s Homelites "an old all steel chainsaw from the 1940's" before. Idiots. If you don't know what year the damn thing was made..............then don't pull something out of your ass, as it's lilkely to be a stinker......

How many iritating CL flubs can be in one listing???

Antique Macolic chainsaw

Antique Macolic chainsaw

Haven't found much on CL lately, but sure is funny sometimes...

CL dumbass in the listing above said:
I have a antique 50's Macolic chain saw for sale or trade for winch! It has the vertical pistons before switched to horizontal stile! Has the old school double tank! Perfect for collecter or conversation starter! E-mail

That's a new "McCulloch" misspelling for me. I've tried to keep a list of all the CL/ebay idiot misspellings of "McCulloch"..........but I get a migraine after writing the third or fourth misspelling and throw the list away....

Dumb####'s also incorrectly guessed the decade that this saw was built (it's really from the early-mid '60s)...........................has said it has "vertical pistons"........misspelled "style"...................used exclamation points for all his punctuation....................and managed to fit "old school" into the listing.:bang:

Yeah, so I gave away about a 1945 model of that saw. Stupid ######!:bang::bang:

Am I wrong, or isn't that one of the later ones?

You're right Jeff. The Black/Metalic-Green Craftsman label makes it a late '70s/early '80s saw. Worked on one exactly like it when I was at Sears service. Black/White Craftsman labels are early-mid '70s.

He got one thing right, it's a conversation starter alright........

But maybe he meant something like "baby, wanna come see my big, yellow, chainsaw........it's a Macolic."
