Yeah I would like one, but not that bad to shell out a grand on a questionable saw. If I really wanted it, I would not have posted it here, lol.

The price on that one is about $750 too high. The last one of those I bought I only gave $300 for and it was sweet. No major dings, no missing parts.
I traded it for a fairly nice 395XP carcass and new Bailey's big bore kit which I made into a hog saw for my brother.

Those 900s are decent saws but they're not worth big bucks.

mcculloch chainsaw lear charger | eBay

Don't see these come up very often

EDIT:
The more I look at the setup it is nothing more than a car alternator bolted onto a chainsaw, bet you could build one rather easily....... I have a old Homelite 500 with a pulley that I may try bolting a one wire GM alternator on??

This is typical of the kind of CL "deals" in & around Houston. Is what appears to be a much-used Stihl 028 WB worth the asking price?

STIHL 028-WB CHAINSAW

I think you could do better, but price is not too high. Nice thing about CL ads is you shouldn't pay asking price. I would think you could get this saw for $125.

I guess that I'm not clever enough to figure out when the edit feature will actually function :msp_thumbdn:.

Early yesterday AM I saw a couple of interesting local CL ads, a clean Husky 445 for $200.00 IIRC, & a Poulan (no model # given) with a 16" bar for $30.00. Both of those ads were gone an hour later.

They'll probably get the asking price for the 028 WB because of the Stihl name, or it's possible the baked-in oil & sap, and heat discoloration will keep folks away.

i just sold mine for $100, i probably could have got more if i put it on ebay. that one listed now is missing the shroud that goes around the alternator. i've used mine several times as it was needed, it works very well for jump starting tractors, cars, etc. it puts out 50 amps! at max RPM

Indian Chainsaw on Norfolk, Va. Craigslist.

The price is probably nuts :crazy1:, but the guy took some decent pictures that I suspect some folks might enjoy seeing.
