I was thinking the same thing. the local STIHL shop has been broken into and robbed of saws a couple of times in the last couple of years. I'll drop them a line in the morning.
They're no necessarily stolen. I once bought 4 Stihls from a older gentleman for $60, one of which, a 290 was almost new. He wanted them out of his way and told me that he was about to take them to the landfill if I didn't want them. He said he bought a new Stihl to use and didn't want them around. I still have the 290.

That 655 is purty, but too much $ for this guy to swing. That's not the only big saw that spent it's life cutting ice, Beefie's 090G had never cut wood until last year. Eastern WI (Lake Winnebago sturgeon spearing season) gives up a few gems like that from time to time. I've seen some nice 900 series J-reds from MN from time to time that were used as ice saws as well.

Im glad you cleared that up for me. I had no clue what sturgeon spearing was till you talked about ice saws.

Made by Tecomec under a variety of brand names. Lighter, smaller, and less expensive that the 'standard' grinders. Have not used one personally. Use a smaller diameter wheel so they cut slower.

From looking at the picture I bet they all will run, with very little work. The only work you will have to do, is put fuel in them, nice score.

That is really my suspicion on most of them... Unless they were straight gassed, they couldn't possibly be run to death, they're not beat enough... Most likely lots of dirty carbs...

If I had a few extra bills lying around, I might call this gut to see if I could haggle him down... This gets reposted every couple days, been on C/L for a few weeks now.
"only made 2 cuts" means still on the first tank of fuel.... or they were some aweful big cuts.
