I have contacted the seller and I am second in line. I guess it is Chris.........:msp_unsure:

Al.

Poulan Super 250A for $20 bucks.

I don't know if this is a deal or not......I know nothing about Poulans.

Old Poulan Super 250A Automatic Chainsaw

Looks very much like a Poulan micro/XXV. Very good little all metal, American made saws. Probably needs fuel lines and a filter - often will run with just that. The fuel lines get brittle and crack and won't let it draw fuel to keep running.

Wouldn't want to mount it on an AR anyway. Pump 12g would be a better choice

I suppose once you're down to chainsaw range the pump would be a better option... Me, I'd rather stay out at standoff range, and just plink away at them...:msp_biggrin:

Wouldn't make for a much of a movie that way though...

Excuse me, but this is your quote.

Why confuse folks ?.

A S25 and a Micro basically only share the same green paint.

Mark,
Saying something looks like something is not saying that it is the same thing. Is it not similarly constructed? I'm thinking repairing one will be pretty similar, and fairly simple. If not, correct me.

Listen, don't get defensive, and I don't want to split hairs. You statement is not up for debate, its plain what you said.

I corrected you statement for the sake of accuracy and the fact that unknowing folks get them confused way too often. No more, no less.

If you insist though, once again, the Micro and the S25 basically share no parts so that makes them quite different.

They also sometimes share part of their model names/numbers (XXV, 25, Super, etc) and that's a major source of confusion (along with a similar 'look'...........at least with a quick glance). They share the same spark plug (most of the time) and bar mount pattern too...:D

They are not at all similarly constructed. The layout is quite different. I was going to correct your statement last night, but hadn't gotten around to it because I was viewing the thread with my phone (which is a PITA to post on). Not a personal attack (or posting just to show we're "right" and you're "wrong"......there's too much of that on the net), but rather to try to stop some of the confusion that happens with these two Poulan saw families.

I know you didn't make this next error.........but the CL seller did:

That saw is also an S25DA (Super 25 Deluxe Automatic)................and NOT a S250A (Super 250 Automatic). That error happens quite often on CL, feebay..................and here on AS. People just can't read a 'cursive' "D" I guess......

OK, I do stand corrected.
Externally it does look a lot like the others, so I assumed the internals might be similar too. Either way, I'd spend the $20 and try to fix it based on my experience with how simple the Micros are to work on. That was essentially my point, but I apologize if I led to anyone's further confusion by my ignorance of that model.

Yeah I didnt mean it to be anything but constructive, no harm no foul.

I not into a lot of big words and mincing words most times and I know the written word gets taken wrong time and again.
