OK, Whats the latest update on "I'll call you back"?..........:msp_confused:

I just left another voicemail. Today would be good, tomorrow I'll be too busy to play "chainsaws" with this fella. He only called me back once, apparently he works during the day. I'm not giving up.

Didn't mean to sound like a ####, just can't see a reason to drive 45 miles to where the saws AREN'T, (and still hasn't disclosed exactly where they are.)

I appreciate the "outside the box" thinking.

This one is tempting me, so maybe someone here will remove the temptation. Of course i might change my mind :).

Husqvarna 272xp chain saw

If you need someone to check it out & help with shipping, let me know.

NOTE--This' going PO some folks, but I'll take my chances. I don't mind helping out, but not if you are:

1. A known flipper. I have no problem with folks flipping chainsaws for profit, but if that's your standard MO, then you shouldn't have any problem sharing some of the profit with me.

2. Someone who is chatty & friendly when you want something, but then turn into a fart (once you get what you want you disappear, leaving behind a bad smell).

I don't think you sounded like a ### at all. I apologize if I was pushing the issue too much. Just got caught up the 50 saw score potential! I hope you get 'em!!!:chainsaw:

I think you're right on both counts. I've given free parts to many members here, about 15 or so of which were brand new people and as soon as they got the desired part, poof- they were gone. No thank you, no acknowledgement that I'd gone out of my way to help them, nothing. Not even an offer to pay the shipping. I don't mind helping people make a profit, but I won't continually give saws and parts to someone just so they can put them in their ebay store. That being said, I will help our in-house builders get stuff because all of our in-house guys have given away labor in times of need or helped those down on their luck.

Right on

Jacob,
You're right on. I'm a newbie here, but I gladly send a small part to the locals if only because of how much I've gleaned from them. If I'm making money off the saw, it's stated in the request and I pay for it.... Some people are too nice and stubborn to take something, but they'll get theirs...;). I'm just waiting in the darkness for them to ask for something I can do for them.

To the regulars... Thank you for your consistent generosity! For the needy newbies... Cough up suckers... We'd be in trouble without these guys!

Great post, Jacob. You've previously given me some solid advice on when to hang onto parts and when to send them :msp_thumbup:.

It's not just newbies who turn out to be flippers and/or farts, there are some long-time ASers who seem to only show up in this thread when they need something. If an ASer is needing something for their personal saw(s), a family member, someone in need, etc., that's fine. It's some (certainly not all) of the folks who I know are selling parts, saws, running a repair shop, etc. I'm not talking about just digging around for parts in my garage, I talking about making phone calls, sending emails, text messages, arranging to meet the sellers, getting the cash, driving, etc.

I've met some great sellers, and I've met some sellers who looked me over like they were trying to estimate how much money I might be carrying, the value of my wedding ring, watch, shoes, underwear, etc.

I would suggest you wear pants when meeting someone for the first time. It kinda gives the wrong impression, and would certainly explain the odd looks you have been receiving.:msp_tongue:
