I don't hit eBay often, and when I do it's usually looking for something specific. Last night I was wandering after one of the links from here got me there, and found these:

Thirty bucks and change later, they're headed here for a spare set - not ready to give up the full wrap Labonvilles, and there are times I have friends cutting with me that could really use a pair. Just couldn't beat the price.

Dolmar Saw Chaps Size Long New | eBay

Great price on the chaps would love to have gotten them. He beat you up on the shipping by 7 bucks, fleabag charges you their fee on the shipping price too. But you still got a good deal

They make it odd like that so Joe homeowner wont be buying his replacement chains at Home Depot or TSC etc.

Keeps the sheep coming back to the barn that way.

That's pretty much what I figured, too, especially when you look at the way Stihl handles IPLs, spare parts, etc. Just wanted to see if anyone had some different thoughts on the matter. Thanks for the responses.

It's just one of those things. If you don't pay attention to shipping prices, buyer's premiums (not EPay but some other auction sites), etc., you'll wind up paying more than you wanted. I just figure what a good deal is on total cost and bid accordingly.

10 miles from me but can't get a hold of the guy. :msp_angry:

Got me some more saws tonight. I'll get a thread up on em, eventually. Super nice older guy, we BS'd for an hour or so, he told me his CL selling theory is to wait for the weekend, and get in touch with the locals first. Said it's worked well for him, and it worked well for me today.

I was really hoping the little Pioneer had a good filter cover, but alas, I've got a matched pair of broken ones now.

Saw is complete, less a broken oiler button. Has compression (haven't checked how much yet, "feels good", have not checked spark, and assume it will need the standard carb kit and lines. 16" hardnose bar with a pretty much shot chain on it.

Just to stay on topic, here's a trunk shot of the saws I picked up today of CL, Craftsman/Roper "should run" and another apart in a box, Pioneer 1100 and a small P-series in boxes, and a Poulan S-25DA runner in the case.

Seems like every group buy always has at least one of those Craftsman/Roper 3.7's included.............. I would be interested If you happen to have a good white air filter cover in that parts box.

I'll try to remember to look when I unload tomorrow. This is actually my first Roper(s) - most of my deals seem to come with MiniMacs. I've got all of them except a pair of PM6s redistributed, though.

Just brought the complete Roper in for a looksee - it's in pretty good shape for it's age, but can't find a model number on it. Looks like the tag used to be on the angled back section of the fuel tank, but most of it's missing. Compression is enough to hurt ya if you don't expect it!

Not gonna tear into it real soon though, got 2 saws tore apart cluttering the bench right now, gotta get those together first.

Model # should be on a sticker on the backside of the air filter cover. They are surprisingly peppy little saws and tend to have a great deal of compression. Make sure you use your decomp or you will bust that little recoil pulley.

EDIT:
I have 4-5 of those here myself, one is blue like yours. There are 5-6 re-brands of this saws, one I know of is a Massey Ferguson. I have one here that is actually branded as a Roper.
