Buying one of those Makita 7901's from Bailey's. Price seems to be good.

My "chainsaw lovers instinct" says "go for it", but common sense is also in the background muttering "yah, you need another chainsaw like.........".

I've read (mainly on here) a lot of good things about it. The only real negative that I remember is the small air filter that "may" start loading up prematurely.

I've bought from CCD, Madsens and Cutters Choice, but never Baileys. However, everybody here nothing but high regard for them....and they are an AS forum sponsor is another plus.

From the specs and what I've read about it, that saw should bring on a big grin when the chain hits the wood...

Like I said in an earlier post , mine cuts green oak like a laser beam, and it is not broken in yet.I would without hesitation, say pick one up,you have product support on this site if you have no one closer,if you are still not happy ,mod it a little than you will have to get a cage for it.

Face it, your mind is arguning with a bug, that wont stop until you've got one. from everything I've read, the 7900, is an outstanding machine. I fully intend to buy one for myself soon as I can afford it.

the parts support, isnt a big problem if you're mechanically inclined, and know how to work on your own stuff. theres Dolmar dealers on the site, and you can get them to supply you with the parts, fix it yourself, and save on the labor costs.

It's only money, buy it for crying out loud. A Christmas present to yourself.

I do believe I've just been convinced that I really do owe it to myself to get it. Will probably order it on Monday...

Rich is correct about the air filter rumors. I'd buy one myself except for the fact that I have two modified 372XP's on the truck and I only need a big saw about 2-3 times per month. If Dolmar can get all their ducks lined up properly, they are in an excellent position to make a huge impact on the commercial saw market. Especially with Husky discontinuing the 372XP and laying a giant egg with the 575.

Can't speak for the saw, I don't have one of them yet, but I can speak for Bailey's and can say they are a great company to deal with. I have purchased from them for years and never had any problems. Go for it, and be careful with your new saw.
