Info. on the 034

I was recently in the saw shop and my dealer has a used 034 that is in really good shape, the motor was really tight and has gobs of compression, it also has a brand new 18" bar and chain. My question is, is this a good saw Stihl had and he wants $225 for it so is that a fair price? Like I said this saw is almost mint just has ocasional use wear, he let me fire it up and check it all out, it ran great, plus he will give me a 60 day warranty on it.

The 034 Super is just about bulletproof, don't know much
about the standard 034, good machines, predecessor
to the 036. Right around 4hp. If it's a Sup, don't pass it up.
I think Stihltech mentioned to make sure the pulse line is
up to snuff.

The saw says 034 AV. and I think it also says electronic quickstop, I do not know how much different this is from the super, but I want an 026 but do not have the $400 big ones right now and if this saw is comparible to the 026 as far as dependability then I will take it.

Jump on that 034. It is larger and heavier than an 026, but also stronger. Like mentioned earlier it is the predecessor to the 036 and a rock solid saw. At $225 you will not find anything close to the reliability and power in a new saw. I'd buy it if I could.

i sold an 034 new and after one month i had to re-po it. it was now used so i gave it a try-out. very nice saw. the 034 was the saw to beat in the 0-3.5 stock saw classes untill the husky 357 came out. the super is 3.75. my 034 now sits on the shelf and gets started once a month(every saw in the shop does) but if i were to sell it i dare say i would ask at least $250.00 for it. granted your sale is not in n.y. but it sounds good to me. go for it.

Everything an 026 is but with MORE POWER. If it runs and idles well, grab it.

I have a 034 and love it,there a strong saw and the only thing I've done powerhead wise is replace the stop/run/choke switch because of worn plastic nipple for the trigger lock. Sounds good! Seth

Been watching the 034 saws on Ebay every one brings around 200$ or so. If it looks as good as you say go for it.

Well I got the 034, and it is a super, I didn't see that the first time I looked at it, and boy this thing sure has a lot of compression, very strong saw, I will try to post some pics if I can figure it out. Well another Stihl in the family.
