Jacob, great saw! I have a Solo 660AV in mint shape, and I run it frequently, it is a lot of fun. Those Beru spark plugs were common in the us back in mid 60's early 70's, they were used in various german made snowmobile engines such as Hirth, JLO, Lloyd, just to name a few, If you need original plugs I am sure the may be out there through antique snowmobile sites, or possibly some old saw or snowmobile shops. Again great saw!

These are very unique saws. I have one
with a bad air leak. Where are you finding
parts for this one. Seals, gaskets and the rings.

Thanks for posting the pictures! I reminds me of late 60's to 70's 2 stroke twins. Put a twin side draft carbs and mount it in a mini motor cycle! That would fun to ride around!

Very good thread, like the pictures alot.

Please do tell us more about the piston coating. If you have a ballpark cost, durability, any information really, I know next to nothing about it in relation to saw restoration.

So I assume there are two pistons 180 degrees apart, with separate crankcases for compression. Does it have a sealed center main bearing, or labrinth seal like 2 cylinder motorcycle engines, or what's in there?

It's on the back burner right now and likely will be for a couple months. I have modern saws to get done for members here and I got real sick a few days ago and am just now getting over that. Plus I've got government work stuff coming up soon.
