Fixing a mistake is one thing, but when a homeowner wants work done over & above whats contractually stated & then tells you hes gonna file a claim, thats wrong!!
In my case, back in 2006 we did 2-sycamores, complete removals, ground the stumps, home owner to clean grindings, we missed 2 spots as he said, I returned reground thinking all is well...NOoo he takes a shovel & pick starts digging up the stump & spreading dirt cause he wants his yard level, but didnt want to pay the extra!!
to make a long story short, he told me he was gonna say I broke his sidewalk if I didnt regrind the stump for a 3rd time, I figure no matter what I do I will not please him, the work he just made for me will cost me either way, and with his thought process I dont even want to do anything on his property, Id be fixing everthing.
Ekka, stated how insurance works down his way, thats how it should be, My claim adjuster & I while on site talked about this & he told me...I know & it cant be said that you did this but....it will be far cheaper to pay him this amount than having to defend ourselves & you in court.
that check was made out to him, no company came to repair his sidewalk & one of the problems here is as ekka was saying they only repair what was damaged , Not here!! my buddies insurance company told him most likely they will just replace the gutters!! parts & labor= approx. $700.00 his deductible is $500.00, I guess she asked if they were gonna install guttergaurds, my buddy pizzed off said for what!! you dont have any trees!!
