Would've thought you buy the stihl, Being your a proud owner of 2 of them?? Got one for my 3 y/o daughter she loves it, she pushes to hard that it stops the chain from rotating. But to answer your question NO!!! good start.

I can't speak for Bosch saws, but I greatly dislike my (expensive) Bosch dishwasher. No child is too young for tools. My 3rd son was only 2 days old when I took him to the hardware store for the first time. (My other kids were at least a week old before their first trip.)

Looks like he's ready for the woods!! My 4 yr. old daughter is bugging me for one and i'm ready to get it she told me she is looking forward to helping me get ready heating for winter! I want her to be a tomboy so gotta get started early she already likes shoes and glitter too much hoping to change her mind to camo and the smell of 2 stroke in the morning!! HA great pics put them in the album they get too big too quick and those kind of pics are priceless!! take care irishcountry

I know, old thread, funny though. Im about to remove pines in Vermont with my 12 and 10 year old nephews as groundies. Cant wait. Brother will be there too. Not sure how good the kids' knots are yet.

Old thread I know. Just wanted to say of all the time I spent in the woods with my dad, the one memory I recall the most often is the one where I first got to run the chainsaw. I was only about 6 maybe 7 years old. Dad had a 1964 ford 1ton truck and we where cutting 5ft, pine beetle killed pines for pulp wood. Dad had a sthil saw, dont remember anything about the saw. He wrapped his arms around me and helped me cut my first stick of wood. I owned my first pulp wood truck before I even had a drivers license. Grownups might not remember a lot of the things they share with their kids, but a kid will remember a lot more than we give them credit for.

Well said, just got some goosebumps. As adults now we need to remember that. Kids brains are so malible. They remember all those little things, good and bad... we are heros to them if only for just a little while in thier lives, until around puberty, then we turn into just big dorks in thier little minds.
