I just sold a very nice 029 at a 'buy it now' price of $225. It took about 12 hours to sell. This is/was a very good saw so I'm sure the buyer will be happy but $225 is pretty much a good price for me also. If I didn't need to cut wood I'd sell everything and just buy more later.

Yep woth all of the hurricanes all the chain saws and generators are going for top dollar. I realy don't even look at ebay much anymore everything just goes to high. For what some of these people are paying I can go down to my local dealer and get a used one an extra chain and a case for the same price and have a warrentee. It is a great time to sell saws though you can get your money back out and then some.

I've sold on ebay in the past (mostly music supplies) and from now till about a week before christmas people spend like the have someone else's credit card. So if you have used gear to sell, now is the time.

Hi, I broker construction equipment as a side line and have had hit or miss results with ebay. Some things have sold for twice what I had thought and some stuff people bid on and stroke me along and never pickup(Big waste of time and money)....Good with the bad I guess.

there are certain categories of things that almost everyone seems to want...all the things I'm interested in, like antique tools, chainsaws, etc!

When something kinda interesting shows up that I want, there will always be a couple of guys out there who want it, and they will have it, period. I've even fallen prey to that myself, and gotten raped at least once. OTOH, we couldn't hardly give away my wife's old sewing machine when she got a new one.

I would suggest watching ebay carefully and learning how it all goes before jumping in. For example, my first Ebay saw was an old Homie that cost more to ship than I paid for the saw...I learned to ask about shipping first. I work with a guy that is heavily into silver art pieces, etc. and ebays a lot...he unabashedly admits that he makes good money from "handling" fees!

There are a lot of reasons to go there...I sometimes do just for entertainment. But I'm not enough of a wheeler-dealer to make ot work out for me.
